Here we go!

The wheel / tire combo can make or break a car. One thing is for certain, at the very least the blackwalls need to be replaced. What would you do to THIS one?

Sorry but I am voting for the road wheels as they think they would look great on that car. I also truly think that a nice polished aluminum set of 15 x 7 Torq Thrust II 5 spoke wheels would also look very cool and I just happen to have a set of new ones in the box made in the 1990's.

IMHO, 16" or large wheels just do not look right on these cars.

I agree with all the sentiment above, except to say that 17's look fine on these cars and give you a much better selection of tires (and improved handling). If you can still find the 17" whitewall, this is my go-to for aftermarket wheels:

Make me a 17" Road Wheel and I'll be customer #2.
What you need to find is a 17" steel wheel that you could weld the centers of a Road Wheel into.

I have seen 15" wheels made with 14" centers, but I would have no idea how that would match up with 15" to 17". A tape measure and an afternoon in a pick and pull type junk yard might do it...

No go. You're forgetting about the trim rings.

I don't care for 17" wheels on older cars, but he's right - the selection for such is HUGE!

I would say go with 15x7 Torque Thrust Ds!

$1363 a set...
Would those 17x9 with 5" backspace fit a Newport?

Good question. I know what fit my car but don't know how they compare. 17X9 with 5' backspace will fit the rear 69 fury without skirts. Probably with skirts too. Because my rear was off center one inner wheel lip had to be cut down a bit. Of course you can always measure.
