We are building a new house..........thought I would share some pics with you guys. It is 6-7 minutes from where we live now so still close to the fairgrounds.

Coming along nicely. She sits perfectly on that hill .... all the time spent looking paid off

it seems as if it was a lot easier than any of my car searches............and don't you dare laugh. i'm sure everyone else who reads this will be falling off their chair.

I love it! But I do think the garage should be a little bigger than the house.
Seriously though, congratulations on the new journey. Wish you all the best!

Congrats. Make sure you have enough room for me to park my motorhome and trailer as I will visit every July. I'll send you the specs for the water, sewer and electric hookups that I need. ;)

Seriously, I am jealous that you live so close to the fairgrounds.

Nice looking house and site, just wondering why you didn't go with a full basement though. Maybe it's just me but I love a full basement.

Naaaaa, no basement. Their effected to much by gravity, Easy for stuff to go down, hard to get anything back out.
I like the single floor plan, no stairs.

Lol! That's funny!
The house looks great Mark, I hope to be given a tour in person one of these days.

Congratulations! I hope you have many awesome years there!

When you finally reach old age Mark, you'll really know that every thing on one floor waz the rite decision. Just enough elevation to keep the lizardz out. Thumbz up Pal, Happy for you and your crew. Everybody needz to build one at least ONCE, Jer

Nice! Congratulations and the best of luck to you! As for basements, I have a love hate relationship. Unfinished, and the suck all your stuff in, get damp and musty and poorly lit, but it keeps the rest of the house clear. If they are finished you get to use only half the space and worry that the sump doesn't fail.

We briefly considered a full basement but after figuring in the dampness issues, possible water intrusion, radon, etc and the hassle involved if we tried to finish part of it was decided to go with a 9/12 pitch roof which we can finish all/part of in the future. Right now it will be dry storage. We have the upstairs framed in for a full bath and spare room with plumbing and electric roughed in for an easy finish when the time comes.

I plan on putting a separate 24 x 30 in so I have room for 2 toys when I decide to look for an old car again. BTW, this guy is moving, we broke ground on July 10th and he anticipates being move-in ready around Oct 1st.
