NOS Chrysler Imperial Porcelain Neon Dealership sign: Ultra Rare is what the Barrett Jackson auction calls a USED SINGLE SIDED sign like it. very little information on the net. This sign is still mounted inside its original shipping crate ( compare the makers name on the sign to the paper tag pictured on the crate) it had a calendar sheet from 1957 inside along with a burlap sack in the bottom containing some mounting hardware. Both sides of the neon is undamaged, so other than cleaning the 60 years of dust off its beautiful. I have not tried to open or clean, or power up. approx 8-10' in length. Notice how the crate label carries the same name as the sign company (original crate) Buyer must pick up, with CASH only, no other forms accepted. Would possible take a (fixer upper) IH pickup or some other pre-1965 pickup in on trade. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY

I'm not 100% that the sign is MoPar Imperial....

Thoughts on this are appreciated.

You buy something like that you leave it in the box , so what's the point?

I wouldn’t even think twice about it. It’s not at all visually appealing in that old crate compared to how it was meant to be seen.

I’d be the last guy to own it anyway....

I agree but you'd be willing to pay several thousand knowing once it's opened the value is cut in half?

Find one without the box

If I had the several thousand available for a purchase such as this I would absolutely open it.

Most likely it won't work.
Neon leakage over 60 years is highly probable, even if it was never used.

Absolutely. Not even to mention electronics degradation. It's highly unlikely it would work and neon guys ain't exactly in every other brick and mortar.
