There was a /6 80 Gran Fury for sale around here about a year ago...you don't get more plain jane than that. Or did you mean plain brown wrapper pursuit?

I used R bodies in the 80's-90's as daily drivers and logged many an hour behind the wheel of these in all weather conditions. I had 3 NY (2 had moonroofs, 2 were 79 and one was 81) and 5 Newports (4 were 79s, 1 was 81). A mix of 318 and 360s. I preferred how the 79s had all gauges including oil pressure. In 80, they went to an idiot light. I liked the 81 grilles the most...very clean look.
I found Newports held up far better in the rust belt (less trim to catch the salt and rot). All in all, great cars in my opinion, despite the issues Chrysler had with build quality on the 79s in rushing them to market.

Always liked these cars! My dad's got a 79 Newport 55k miles black with red interior. Still has the window sticker! Was something like $10,500 out the door!

Anything without that gawdarful Landau roof, actually.

These are the only two pictures I have of it at the moment. I'll get one if the window sticker and the interior tomorrow.

Be a Gentleman and get some Road Wheels for the old mans ride.. that would really spruce it up IMO. Oh ya! And lose the bug deflector.. lol P.S.. what’s the cars story? Dad bought it New? Or???

After looking at those pics of the "cop car". I'd have to see some proof that this isn't a tribute car. That interior seems way too plush for a sheriff cruiser. That would never hold up.
It may have been a detectives car at one point, who knows... the proof would be in the fender tag.
Either way, it seems high priced to me

I bought an ‘80 & an ‘81 iirc Gran Fury in my much younger days. They were ex Highland park police cars and I paid 700 bucks for both in around ‘87. I think I made one decent (relative) driver out of the 2 and it was my dd for a few years. The badges appeared to have been removed with a heat gun because you could still see everything clearly and I kept the one with the working spotlight. It was handy for delivering pizza at night.

Some road wheels would look nice on this car! He likes the originality though. Keeps the hubcaps off in the trunk. My brother and I, along with my uncle went and looked at this car about 5 years ago. It was on Craigslist at the time. Advertised as not running for $1100. Unfortunately he was using it as a shelf for the 5 years so there are some pretty good scratches on trunk lid. It belonged to this guys' wife's dad originally. He bought it new in Williston north Dakota. Anyways my brother ended up buying it. We got it running and driving and he gifted it to our dad on his birthday! He used to daily drive an 80 Newport just like this to work as far back as I can remember! Had like 328k miles on it. Parked it because the doors and windows quit opening. Anyways he loves the car and it only gets driven on nice sunny day days!

I agree...wouldn't a black and white have a cage divider in it?
