Pretty nice but the bid is a little suspect.
Zero Bids. That's Lash's starting price. Mayby he'll surprise us someday and give a member a fair deal. Just to throw us off.

'Immaculate original car', right down to the hood ornament and wheel covers... :bs_flag:

He’s got a big flipper gig going but some of his cars are good.. in spite of them. Usually they carry a double market value price tag.

If you go to their r back of shop, they’re pressure washing, rattle canning and shimming everything that doesn’t look good. IE.. hood latches, engines etc.... at least they stopped painting the exhausts.

This one actually looks pretty honest.

I love Formals (and other models) but I'm getting tired of....."Maybe the nicest in the Country" BS!! Some of these are priced close to a middle/late '60's Imperial or New Yorker!

I've been there myself. Reminded me of a Tijuana car wash.
I was told he moved but I have not heard where.

I wanted to give that the red X... but decided not to only so I didn't start you off pissed... My observations...

The "nerf strip" on this bumper is unfortunate. The metal molded into the rubber is rusting and making it wavy...

Sacrilege... an Imperial wouldn't have Chrysler wheel covers... these got transplanted probably from a New Yorker. I like them, they're nice looking... but wrong.

A K car hood star... Not the eagle that belongs there. I don't know what's behind the grille, maybe an aftermarket A/C dryer?

Window switches are tough to find in good condition.

I'd bet a dollar that wheel has been repaired... look it over carefully and you may find shrinking material or other evidence.

I've looked at this before and tried to figure out what happened... ash tray is really skewed and is that the wood grain sticker peeling or something wrong with the plastic it attaches to?

I really am astounded by the amount of paint they add when detailing under a hood.

See that stance... the car came with air shocks and automatic height control... I'd look to see that the pieces are still there and it would be cool if it was working.

I'd also want it on the lift to go over the chassis very carefully... that stub frame might be a little rust or have a big soft spot hidden by undercoating.

Regardless of my nit picking, it looks like a nice $2500 car... maybe more. If I was a buyer, I'd have them disassemble the rear brakes for measurements and inspection... the rotors are stupid hard to find in usable condition and the asking price is always high. The parking brake shoes were unavailable in the mid 80's, so they may have had the linings fall off by now.

It's not the car's fault it got caught in flipper hell... but IMO the benchmark for pointy nose Formal values will be set in May. I'm looking forward to your review of this car.

Probably some back alley somewhere.
I agree with all that Jeff offered. For what he wants he should know better than to sell it with so many annoying faults. Should've painted the beer can behind the grill flat black for example, after they repainted it they should painted on some pinstripes like it would normally wear. The wheel covers, hood ornament etc...

I wouldn't say $2500 as Jeff mused, but not $9k either and definitely not $21k!
If he fixed everything mentioned and it checked out mechanically then maybe $9k

I'm pretty cheap (frugal) and I'd say $5000-$6000 range. Most 2 door NYB's in this condition are bringing around 6 grand tops! If this was a '74 Imperial, maybe 7 grand....IMO!

Redoing the math

$6k for a NYB is probably $4-5k for an Imperial for many folks who know about the brakes and are afraid of problems.

For us very few, 74 is the ultimate... but I'd guess we could be counted on one hand. For my $$, this would be worth less too, because I'm less a fan of the Crown/St Regis roof package than the 2 or 4 door hardtops.

I know that makes me weird...

^^^Cantflip: So your saying the value of the '75 Imperials should be less because of the brakes?

74/75 Imperials, with their unique rear disc brakes, makes a rear brake job exorbitantly expensive. And I'm willing to bet that there isn't one shop in the country that the uninformed owner could find to completely replace the rear brakes.

Sorry but 73' is the ultimate Imperial! :poke: Just ask anyone who has one or has owned one. Next are the 67's. Then the forwards. 59's and 60's. I think ma mopar screwed up when they dropped the Imperial line and renamed it New Yorker
Imho.
