Can anybody help me out with sliders for the ends of my torsion bars in the boot of a 65 fury convertible. I am told they are different than the sedan. Thanks

What’s the diameter of the bar? I’d be surprised if you couldn’t get these through any of the restoration parts companies like Year One or Classic.

They were plastic, probably nylon or something close to it.

Sorry I took so long, got a windshield installed. The sliders for the trunk in the 66 Polara parts car are plastic, they are a warmer temperature than the metal on the hinge.

As in the photo above the owner has told me his are steel, I put some hard plastic in there but the steel hinge was grinding it to death. Has anybody got some advice in aligning the trunk as I am having a bad time trying to get it right, do they use shims at all

That's a plastic slider. No doubt in my mind. As Stan says, they do need grease.

This is not making sense. From the pic above,
I see nothing wrong with your plastic sliders. They are aligned properly.
But they need grease on them.
This ^^^

I should have mentioned that earlier.

I think you might be able to rotate them. They are square, so get the tension off of them and turn them to the next flat. They should last quite a long time... oh and get some grease on them.
Just a thought.

They are square
Strange, the ones I was looking at today were round, and had a lip on either side of the hinge. I'll take some pictures in the morning.

Edit:
Convertible, that's why. I forgot that.
