Yeah, I suspect a repaint. Little over spray and paint line on the inner fender. Nice car but can’t be sold as original paint.

Look at that heavy orange peel on the slab sides which is inconsistent with how the rear deck looks. That car has been repainted and from the looks of it a bad job done on the sides. I'm an amateur when it comes to painting a car so one would expect a pro to be way better. So either a bad pro or an amateur painting their first car and not having the right paint activator (dried too fast) or gun pressure/atomization (laid down too thick). The last two I painted with one just using the flash to show how much spread of the spot of light is which is very little. That was raw as it hasn't been touched by a buffer.

All I know is that is a fantastic color combination with a very rare painted roof. Glad it is not a Fury or I would be trying to come up with some $'s. BTW, is the asking price Canadian? If yes, what would the US $ price be? Looks like a very nice driver that would look just fine at any cruise night or at Carlisle.

$9266 USD

The owner is friendly and open to Discussion. the price is Canadian. The price is high but it’s OBO. They said to call and he will tell you the history of the car and answer any questions you may have . He Is not a flipper . Give it a shot , you have nothing to lose by taking to him .

I have to admit It does look like some of it has been painted after I looked at my pictures . But given the to chance to see this car up close it’s nice the interior is very respectable. It spent many years in a heated attached garage. To me at least it’s the nicest example I have seen up here of 68 new port.

A friend of mine who is very knowledgeable on '68 Chryslers (he has 3) took a look at the photos and tells me that this car is a Spring Special edition.

How do you determine a spring special edition??? I was told that is what my Newport Is? Have done some reading and found talk of it. But nothing about codes ect...
