Car made it to my house on Wednesday. Carpet was rotting so I managed to get the seats out and all the nasty carpet and backing up and out today.

Gas tank is out and there is no battery so I haven't had a chance to see if it starts yet.

I'm almost certainly in over my head with this car, but interested to see what you guys think about the overall condition.

Looks like a very solid foundation! Would be proud to use it daily while straightening things out...more pictures please!

Thanks. These are the last of the pictures until tomorrow (provided it doesn't rain). Until I can get it running I don't have enough personal horsepower to push it in the garage to work on it out of the weather.

That's a very savable car/money pit... The good news, nobody will beat you up too much for anything you do that's a little "incorrect". The bad news (not really) is this car will never justify a $10k engine or stereo, so stay close to correct without straining and you've got a near perfect builder.

Do it for love, because the selling price will never match the investment required. Let us know when you're looking for hard to find parts... Formal stuff is pretty thin in the aftermarket... more good news, you have the easy to find brake booster, if it's correct for the car.

You don’t see many of these, good score!

I'm looking to make it into a fairly frequent driver, something I can take to local cruises or drive out of town for the weekend. Someday over the rainbow when everything else is done, it needs a 440.

The blue metallic is growing on me a little bit so I might indeed re-blue. The required body work has me a bit worried as I don't have the space, tools, or knowledge on how to do it myself.

I have no intention of making money off this car, or ever selling it really, but I am somewhat sort of trying to be reasonable with expenditures.

Take your time and do a little at a time. I've been working on my NYB for almost a decade and I'm still not done.

I remember seeing this car on the electronic bay. The color combo is super cool, glad to see it got a good home. Dig the Phantom Black '06 in the garage too :)

Be sure to plug those holes in the roof near the back glass. At least temporarily.

Will make a nice car, one way or another. Get it running and then go from there.

Being a 360, much more room under the hood!

IDK... I see too many benefits being a small block... especially if you put a bunch of miles on her. You may have noticed there are lots of threads in here for running hot troubles with that giant heat pump under the hood, and few who love their mileage... In stock form, I'd bet the 360 is close enough to the 440's power to not miss any difference cruising, and if building something not so stock, a whole new world of possibilities is out there.

For now, get her on the road... and enjoy her.

It was a bit serendipitous. I have been casually trying to find a 74 Monaco for about 5 years and posted to a Mopar Facebook wanted group about it and someone posted the link to the auction. As for the GTO, I needed something impractical as a daily driver and there weren't a lot of options from Mopar 8 years ago. For what it's worth that car has been good to me.

Love this car! What’s the story here, was it a power window converted to manual?

I'm not sure. I think it's a manual window car and that spot is for an electronic lock switch because there are square, silver emblems on the door that say 'Electronic Locks', but I can't find any switches for them. I'm trying to find some pictures of other people's interiors to see what I can find out.

Right now I have a car cover on it (sorry neighbors) because I didn't want it to take on any water until I can get it running enough to drive into the garage (it fits, by 2in). I also don't trust any of the window/door seals to keep out water as they are hard as a carp.

Definitely focused on just getting the car drive-able as is now. There's probably zero difference between a worn out 360 and 440 for cruising, but I have a soft spot for 440s because that's what was in the first Monaco I had in the late 90s that is no longer with us.

If your car is a 360 you will need a big block transmisson for the 440 if you put one in. The bolt pattern on the 360 transmission won't line up.

What does the other door panel look like? Does it have the square in it too. Might be that they put door panels in from an electric window car. What does the top of the door lock look like? Those cars had a flat top on the door lock that says "electric lock".
