Roll call: If you are going to the Chrysler Nationals @ Carlisle please post here.

Nice “pen” name, kinda like those CL ads where people put their finger in front of the license plate, LOL.

Hey, if I copy that sticker I can get in for free! Just gotta get there before you!

:poke:
If you never went up for a goodie bag, they would never notice. The guys at the gate would just flag you through.

I should be all set up by the time you arrive. Send me a list if you want me to grab anything when I'm shopping.

Jeff, If you arrive before Wed the shopping will be sparse. The only thing I need now is buyers......!
How are you going to set up the pop up? I plan to back Connie up to the pole. like last year. Face my spaces and we can have our own compound.
Should be fun.
:drama:

Had an appointment to see my cardiologist yesterday and it did not go well. My red blood cell count and iron level is dangerously low again. I received an iron transfusion and a blood transfusion yesterday and let me go home if my girlfriend picked me up from Johns Hopkins. Of course, she wasn't happy because she had to drive my Ram back....and she has to drive me back to the hospital Monday. I'm hoping to stay out of the hospital and be able to drive to Carlisle next weekend. It will be up to my cardiologist and hematologist.

Bob,
I'll miss ya if you don't make it, but I'd rather you get healthy. I'll be praying for you.

Get better Bob, and hurry up about it! :BangHead:

The plan right now is to get there on Weds. late afternoon, and be there until early Sat. afternoon. I'll be with a guy in the swap meet, spaces E-5+E-6, I think. I'll have a very large white cooler with water, Gatorade, and probably something brewed, so stop by. And if I'm not there just help yourselves to whatever is in the cooler. It might be covered with a blue moving blanket to keep it out of the sun. Just look for a dark grey Dodge 2500 Quad Cab.

Why is the Chrysler Nationals always in the dead of summer on the hottest days of the year? Love the show, but darn if it doesn't test the old radiator.

Not sure what I'm doing now about Carlisle. Was my intent to take my other 65 Monaco and sell it. Though I just realized the car corral only allows running cars not on a trailer and mine just doesn't fall into that category. Going to have to come up with another game plan. Don't want to pay for an entire vendor space.

My thoughts exactly as yours as its the 2nd or 3rd biggest show they have and its always in the stinking humid middle of July. I mean come on Carlisle, think a little. Making tons of money on this show, and you could make more Carlisle if you switched it to the date of the Ford show and throw the GM show in the middle of July as its a dead show anyways on life support. Big money maker and you got it in the fricken hottest time of year where people don't want to or are reluctant to force themselves to walk around on a fairground with no trees, no shade, piss poor bathrooms and been that way for years. I have been there years when the blacktop tar on the roads is sticking to your shoes and is all gooey. Most people who attend this show are in their mid 60's or late 70's. Heat/humidity is killing the show and the crowd. Been a vendor here for nearly 20 years and they need to do more to cool the people down. Here's a idea.. How about a giant cool room in a few different places on the grounds that is air conditioned with lots of chairs. Hmm.. nah that would cost to much money to do. How about planting some F_cking trees on the place for gods sake! I am a vendor in spots o-74 and then some and if anyone needs something C body or whatever I will be there. Weather is gonna be in the low 90's.

Sorry to hear about your problems Bob. We'll be praying for you. Your health is top priority! Don't take any chances, the heat there is tough on a healthy body, even more so if your not well.
Carlisle will always be there. Take care.

FYI. Just found out guys. All day Friday 13th is Mopar at the Mountain at the South Mountain Raceway (Dragstrip) in Boiling Springs, PA about 10-15 minutes East of the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Should be a good time if you can get away for awhile.

Yes, they have the drags there every Friday for the Mopars when they are in town at Carlisle. Carlisle even provides a free bus ride shuttle to take you there. They have been doing this for 20 + years. They even do when the ford and GM show are in town for Carlisle. I have been to them all but the Chryslers is the Best and biggest for the drags. They also have racing there every Sunday but not when a show is in town. The track has been all redone and modernized 1/8th mile. I known the previous owners for 40 plus years ago. They have both passed on now years ago and the new owner is great and did the track right. It needed it. He put a lot of money in it but its a lot better now. Sometimes they even bring in some big stars at the drags there with their cars. I have seen and met Big Daddy with Swamp Rat and the Bill Maverick Golden and wheel stander go down the track.

Well I'm sorry fella's but I'm not going to be able to go to Carlisle this year. I'm getting another blood and iron transfusion and I have to come back here on Friday. At least I can go home later this afternoon. I made a slight improvement which was enough that I don't have to have in-patient care right now.

Very disappointed, Bob. Was hoping to rag on you some more about that yaller Newport. . . Don't fret. Carlisle will be there again next year. And dayum! Take it easy and get well. . .

We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers! Don't let it get you down. Many other car shows in your future. Won't hurt to miss one. Get better! We're all pulling for ya.

Bob,
Take car of yourself and get better. I'll be praying for you.

On another note I'd been holding my breath because I took the NYer to the garage for an inspection a week ago. They called and hold me it needed an idler arm for inspection. Long story short the idler arm just came in this morning. So I get to pick it up this evening, yeah. A few little things and me and the kids should be ready to go Friday morning.
