New forum..old face

Supper at the Tim Horton's before we check in at the ferry.
Surprise!
My childhood chum we used to play together lives in Port Aux Basques and was following the BoaB on Facebook

.
he did a u turn and stopped by for a coffee!!

This is where I slept during the night crossing almost 7 hours.
Cabins are very expensive-almost as much as the crossing.
So,self medicating required to get some sleep when lying on the floor or in the chair.

As part of my divorce,I had to sell my house.
Which means I lost my garage where the Boab lived for 13 years.
So in September I secured heated storage and got a deal by storing the Waygun,BoaB and La Chrysler.
My brudder Don and daughter Dee,girlfriend Maggie did the driving as well as me.

Not being able to go look at my cars or tinker is a big adjustment.
I am getting itchy at the same time but looking forward to getting them out again in the spring!

Good deal. Car looks great and if the only issue was that pinion seal, I'd say it was a trouble free road trip.

You should give everyone a little primer on The Wreckhouse.

Luckily the Wreckhouse was calm when we drove through.
This stretch of road is the only way in and out of Port Aux Basques to reach the ferry.
Folks, there is a stretch of highway in Newfoundland where it is along the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is well known for strong winds that can and had blown tractor trailers off the road, cars too!

When the railroad was still in service, rail cars would be blown off the tracks too.

Love that 4 dr 300. You hardly see any anymore.
Only 2838 4dr sedans built for Canadian market in 1966. Not sold in the U.S.
With the Autopact Agreement signed the year before. 1966 last year for big Chryslers being built in the Windsor plant for the Canadian only market.
We drove the 66 to Carlisle in 2016. Needless to say, people were curious or scratching their heads when they first saw it.

Well we had a busy and fun summer.
Sorry for not posting here but y'all know and met me at some events Maggie and I attended with the BoaB.
The C body show in Volo and the Mopars at the lake shows were awesome. Plus being in the arena at Moparfest
We did some local shows that I never had been to before as well.
I mainly enjoyed driving the car more than anything.Sometimes it is the journey more than the destination.
I do get tired of the lawnchair races even though I do not chase trophies..
Don't get me wrong--I met a lot of good people through my travels, and very grateful to have met many members from this very site.

Well now it is time to put the BoaB into storage and await more road adventures next year..
Till then...

It was a pleasure meeting you and Nick at Volo this year! I hope to see you at an event somewhere else down the line.
