Welcome from :canada:. More on this car's back story would be very interesting.

Hi,and Thank You. for more back story, revisit the ad on cl. for pics, only text works for me right now,so,if you cant text,or are afraid of me being a phone number stealer,I guess we cant work together. This is a real car, real miles, real guy writing this. Rich.

The great thing you will find about being on this forum is that it is the single greatest repository of knowledge regarding all things C-Body related. The information contained here will far outlast us so the more information deposited here for future enquirers will provide a valuable resource for those who come after and is greatly appreciated. Even if you are only a temporary caretaker of this car future owners may seek out this forum and any information left here will help fill in any blanks a long disappeared CL ad will never provide. We are documenting a lost era and the more we discuss/post the brighter the future for those who come next. Share what you can with its history and pictures when you are able. The next owner will thank you.

Dear Richard....

We are all from Missouri around here. We need to see it.

From your description it sounds very interesting. And as a low mile example, you’ve managed to pique our interest as a unique opportunity to see and reference your car for this site.

If you became a member just to sell it, well that’s nice but only adds to our “curiosity”.

A similar low mileage car ( a metallic red four door hardtop) went for well over $15,000 not long ago. It was a fine and unique example that we reference occasionally

Please find someone to help you post some decent pictures. Otherwise, it’s just an interesting bit of trivia.

Per your own ad in CL:

“This thing must be seen to be truly appreciated.”

??? tc23y8b122098 ???

The digits make some sense, but the letters have all been misread. So also in this case a picture of the fender tag or the door sticker would do the trick.

Ok, looking for Sequence # 183514

Just wondering how close yours was to the last one built.

So how long have you owned this car?

:welcome:

The price in the ad is: $25k.

There is no phone# in the ad, so there is no way to send a text.

The VIN posted in the ad is incorrect:
tc23y8b122098

Since the city is not referenced in the original post, it's:
Barre, Mass.

Since the ad has not been copied in the original post, nor is there a link to it, it's been copied here:
1978 Chrysler New Yorker, 392 miles

1978 Chrysler New Yorker, 392 miles - $25000 (barre)

359 sunrise ave
1978 Chrysler New Yorker Coupe

VIN: tc23y8b122098
condition: new
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 392
paint color: grey
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: coupe

I have found one of the largest dinosaur eggs ever unearthed. This 1978 New Yorker has an astonishing,original,392 miles.Paint code A1, Dove grey, with a Black landau top,and Black pinstripe. Road wheels, with the original Firestone 721,LR78/15 tires. interior trim code PLA3,Grey button tucked leather, and matching semi shag carpet, all still brand new. This massive luxury coupe is powered by the mighty 440,making it one of the last 440 powered coupes to come from Chrysler, and, quite possibly,THE LAST ONE. This car was ordered directly from Chrysler Corp.,in Manhattan, and picked up at the factory,by the original ordering owner.Never dealer prepped!! Driven home, and to get an inspection sticker three times, the last one being May 1981,and its still attached to the windshield. It has only seen the light of day,3 times since getting that sticker. This car was part of a one hundred car collection,of Chrysler Cbody cars, that has been liquidated. We only needed to drain the fuel tank, replace some rubber lines, and add a new battery, and the 440 whipped over, and fired right up,like we just shut it off. WOW,was the word of the day that day. Smooth and strong, nothing quite sounds like a 440. This thing must be seen to be truly appreciated. some trades may be considered, but be real, you know what I mean. clear mass title. history since being ordered, built, and picked up at the FACTORY,by the original owner, never dealer prepped. stored properly all this time. call it a garage find, barn find, whatever, its a once in a lifetime chance,to get a new 1978 Chrysler, and possibly, the last one built.. PICS ONLY THROUGH TEXT.

Richard was close when he said it ws possibly the last car built.

There was only 61,416 Formsl's built after this car in 1978.

A picture of the fender tag and door tag will clear lot o questions up.
