I didn’t think that was going to take very long.

He is also selling an interesting Satellite rag top. Great color for a GT. Many people don't realize that the bench seat was standard as were drum brakes in 1970.

Neither of which seem to have been common on the GT, seems to be that most that opted for the A52, generally opted for additional features.

As noted, this GT has very limited options. Somewhat unexpected, it has a headlight delay shutoff feature it appears - I don't see that very often (L42). Other than a/c, an AM radio, and light package not much else. I guess the Newark, Delaware plant specified a delete vinyl roof by a VLX code rather than V01 (monotone paint)? It looks like a straightforward restoration. We won't know until the last second most likely as to what it will bring. Interesting to watch.

I think it reads V1X (black v-roof)

If you have factory v-roof car usually only a part of the c-pillars get some colour not the complete roof.

But the pictures are not detailed and big enough to make a judgement.

Looks kinda rough outside wise. Floors look solid. But definitely a good project. Definitely needs rot repair and a new speedometer hand. Love the color though. The fact that it's a real GT, an A/C car, and he has some parts in the trunk is a definite plus in value. The side "Sport Fury" marker lights are in nice condition as well. I just don't know why it has a silenced air cleaner and not a dual snorkel. Best of luck to the bidders and to the new owner. Hope it finds a great home:thumbsup:

To fc7-plumcrazy- There is no vinyl top. That's the strobe stripes. (V6X)

You are right !
Good eye.
I was reading kinda V1X out of it but it is V6X.

Important site note: All SFGTs buillt in "D"=Belvedere don't have the stripe coded on the Fender Tag but all "F" =Newark built have it

I missed that it was a 6, and in fact, it now looks more like an 8 to me, which means transverse stripe, black in color. I think that is the likely code the more I look at it.

saforwardlook. Now that you mention it, it does for some reason look like an 8. Maybe because, the photo is a cut off or a little fuzzy/blurry. How can it be though, If it's V something X, I would think it's 1 for vinyl top or 6 for stripe. Never heard of an 8. By the way, I love the Polara, It's a shame that you sold it. However, it's great that you have a 70 SFGT. Could you tell me more about it?

If this one ever had a VT it would have trim at the lower edge? And with all the paint loss I don't imagine how we'd not see a ghost from where the trim had been.

I realize this car is all complete, legitimate, rare, etc. But I think if a guy bought this car and dropped $10k in it the new shiny bits would clearly announce, versus the now-more-obvious faded bits, that he had *at least* another $10k to go. And if not done thoughtfully - it could turn like the burgundy Wash-state car?
