Incorrect fenders on so many ‘69 300’s

Any ideas why so many 1969 300’s have the wrong fenders - (New Yorker or Newport)?
Is that from the factory?
They are supposed to have the standard ‘69 marker light (like the Chargers etc)
but if you google image the car you see so many with the other fenders

Take a close look, you will see the amber marker light section, and the other light is for the "Cornering Light" which was a highly liked option. The fenders are a different stamping.

'a yes' . and my 70 fenders have the larger setup . this car is history now , here is that great running engine n trans now .

300's always had cool grilles . my nyr would look good with that grill setup .

well i do know the harness wiring on my 67 300 rags is different from non to cornering lamp cars .

Those are optional cornering lights. The fender had a different opening for the larger light/side marker combo.

just another special part that had to be stocked , like 14'' n 15'' fender wheel house openings on challenger and barracuda . ma mopar did some costly things being number 3 for years . dare i say wing'd cars .

On the verge of being redundant - you’re mistaken. Those fenders are correct. As stated, they are for the cornering lamp option. You just happen to see a majority of NYers with the option because NYers are generally, higher optioned, but no car came standard with them.
69 is the only year that uses those fenders for Chryslers, as in 70 & 71 they changed the Amber light location to above the belt line for all Chrysler’s
