C Body & A Body pilot cars?

That would be correct, it normally says "Job" then a number after it if it's a "pilot" car. There is a pilot "A" body Valiant that I know of. Believe it's a 67. It is in one of the magazines I got. But no C's unfortunately. There are E bodies not sure about B's.
There are a few B body pilot cars out and about. A good friend has the 1970 Hemi Roadrunner pilot car. Even newer Mopar pilot cars are leaking out too.

This is either a pilot or early production car.
Dad didn't remember what this event was but probably a management meeting at a local banquet hall.
These early cars often had different trim from later production vehicles. This looks like std. Fury III trim other than the S.F./VIP wheel covers.
Many were then used as engineering mules or pool cars.
Some of these cars eventually would be sold, sans warranty, to employees, auctioned to dealers or crushed.

Thank you for that info, do you know anything about where pilot cars and ore production cars were built? I have read [old magazines]that these 0801 and 0802 etc cars were all built at the Clairepoint plant, not at the actual plant.

there is no 71 T/A, that airbrushed photo is all there was

Quite possible. Dad would certainly know with his great memory. Were he around to ask.
Clairepoint being one of the few plants I’ve never worked in. Figure it was like the Ford pilot plant down along I-94.

Both 1971 Sport Fury GT promotional cars still exist. Both ordered in July 1970 with 8/1/70 build dates & built with the 1970 350 HP 440. Both are the first '71 GT's built. One car built to tour the Canadian dealerships & one built to tour the US dealerships. Both have very low VIN's and the factory seat covers on the Canadian GT have IBM cards sewn into the seams that have "sew here" printed on these cards.

While my Big-Tailed Beast (i.e., a 1960 Fury) is not quite within the purview of this particular forum, it may well be a pilot car or a "mule." It is a 2-dr H/T with the SonoRamic Commando cross-ram engine. What makes it rather unusual is that it has some different features than most ram cars, most notably the carb linkage being the early ball-joint type and the lack of removable panels in the fender wells to facilitate plug changing. In addition, the swivel seats are the the earlier 1959 model types and not the automatic '60 version. What's more, while it does have these features, it wasn't shipped until 10-25-59 from the St. Louis plant and not sold until 02-23-60 (by a Denver dealer), which is a long time for a high-performance car to sit on a lot.
I've discussed this with Darrell Davis (a former Chrysler exec, Chrysler Historical Society board member, and '60 Plymouth aficionado) and we kinda have come to the conclusion it may well have been one. He did work for Chrysler, in the Plymouth division, then and he thinks it may well have been a mule and rather than shipped the dealer for sale, used by a factory rep which was a common practice then.
At any rate, while I have the build record and the sales invoice, but not any other info on the car.

Here’s some pictures from the Chicago area Corvette & Muscle Car show 2 years ago. A (the)
Prototype Hurst in the barnfind section. I forget the story about the 300 but it almost slipped away into obscurity. Cecil was a nice person to talk to and dedicated to his Chrysler passion.
