I've been toying with the idea for our C Body show next year as where to have the event.
Volo Auto Museum is where we've had the our show since 2017, and their location serves as a great backdrop for a car venue. But there are pro's and some con's to having it there.
The museum has a lot to see, from the cars, the military exhibits, antiques and memorabilia. Parking has never been a problem and the trees allow for plenty of shade.
The management allows to have food catered in, but no alcohol or open fires or grilling is permitted.
The other location in consideration is where I had the Car-B-Que last September at Randall Oaks park. There is plenty of parking at this location as well, but with having the proper insurance coverage, we are allowed to alcohol on the premises. In addition, we are allowed to grill our own food or cater it in as has been done in the past at Volo.
The large shelter house has it's own kitchen and enough of picnic table style seating for 100+ people and could keep us covered in case inclement weather occurs.
And for anyone traveling, there are hotels nearby at both locations.
Just kicking the idea around. What do you guy's think?
(don't worry about the Cutlass in the first pic, I think he was lost)

That's a tough one. I like both places, but I think the Randall Oaks park would be best

I think Randall Oaks would be better, there is more to do for people that bring their family and kiddos with the petting zoo, playground, disc golf course, ETC.

Also being able to grill up food and have a nice spot for everyone to sit and eat would be pretty nice. Not to mention I'm pretty sure we could be there later then Volo where they like us to be outta there before 4-5 PM.

This is the one local event I look forward to every year.

Only 8 hours and 44 minutes. I had to do that drive twice in the last 3 months.
In a modern car with cruise though. A nice little day drive.

Throwing this out there....look at the links to the Wisconsin Auto Museum in Hartford WI. If there was enough interest I could inquire on specifics:
Wisconsin Automotive Museum
A block away is a neat restaurant called The Mineshaft: https://www.mineshaftrestaurant.com/
Info on city, other attractions: Hartford, Wisconsin - City Information, Fast Facts, Schools, Colleges, and More
This location is about 1.3 hours North of previous event. Depending on what time of the year other events could be occurring.

Randall oaks is closer to me so that'd be good. The option of fun things for my kids is nice. I stay light on the alcohol when in the hot rods so that's not a consideration for me.

Volo is 11 hours and 53 minutes away. Randall Oaks is 11 hours and 46 minutes away from me.

Guess you know what gets my vote.

But seriously, I'd love to make it out there. Don't know as it would be in the convertible though...

I plan to attend either way. This said, would moving from Volo make a difference for folks coming from Wisconsin? I'd venture it'd be an extra hour driving for them.

The grass and trees at Volo are a big plus IMO, unless it rains -- in that case, the parking lot concrete at RO starts looking quite appealing. The reverse is true if it is hot and sunny -- Volo would IMHO be much nicer for the cars in that case.

Yep, so round trip = 1hour.

OK, an hour round trip. Ask Leanburn about his round trip mileage he put on the Barge last year. I don't think it mattered to him...just sayin'

Big_John, it'd be nice to meet you next year, whether it be at Randall Oaks or Volo, with or w/o your convertible.
But if it's not in the cards, I hope to see you at Carlisle in 2020.

As long as i have a co pilot and GPS 750 miles 15 hours in one day is a piece of cake!
The Mopar show on the Sunday made the long trip worthwhile as we blew people away there too!
A total of over 1500 miles in less than 3 days!!

As soon as youse guys work out the date and venue I will be back!!
I will be planning extra travel time to be more relaxed and get to see more of the local yocal sites.
Need to know soon to book off time and reserve a room!!
Ya never know what I will drive...maybe the BoaB again...or something else...

The shelter at Randall Oaks offers the greater freedom for food and beverage choices is a big plus. No mention of how long we can stay there. My big question is what is the general capacity of the shelter. With last years preregistration number as they were a move to Randall Oaks seems to be a very good idea. Parking on asphalt has it draw backs of course in the summer, a small trade off.:thumbsup:I'm good w/ the change.

both are almost 1000 each way. unlikely i will travel that far for a one day show
