Factory front sway bar width?

I have a 65 Ply SF
How wide is the factory OEM sway bar? 7/8, 1, 1 1/8?

Thanks!

Mopar part number is 2462603. Neither the parts book or service manual give the shaft size. For whatever it is worth all Polara, Fury and Chrysler C-Body cars (except Imperial) use the same one. Suggest you find one and check the size. If you are adding a sway bar, be advised that the welded frame mount brackets are not installed on cars that did not have a factory sway bar.

Mine is factory installed. I've been through the gambit with the after market link replacement parts. They are too small and suggest for a 7/8 anyway. I took an eyeball measurement, and it looks to be a 1". But again, that's really rough, unless the bar is cut in half.

I'm going to go for the cut, pry, drill of the original units as nothing else seems to fit properly. When I say properly, sure I can clamp the crap out if it and squash the bushing, but that's not a proper fit

Thanks as always for your spot on reply!

I measured the front sway bar on my '65 Chrysler with a digital caliper = .875 or 7/8".

Sorry Dave there was actually two sizes used on C Bodies...

7/8, and the thicker 15/16

Mine is the 15/16. Has to be. None of the 7/8" replacement links fit the bar safely. Meaning the bushing gets completely distorted. I did the MOOG OEM fix on one, and cut it open. Was a total PIA, but it worked.

Mine looks like the lower one of the two you posted.
