Well guys! Today is finally the day I took delivery of my 1968 New Yorker 2 door. I couldn't keep it in storage any longer and it's (almost) warm enough to be outside working on it! The very first thing I did was removed that vinyl top! Now it's time to dive deep into this project. It's gonna be a great time!

Take it slow, fix the critical issues and try to keep driving it as you are working on it.
A quick two year restoration took me 12 years.
‘68 is a fun year.

Congratulations. Now the fun,(and frustrations), begin. Best to research your car first. Decode the fender tag, VIN and look for a broadcast sheet. Careful if you find one, they usually take careful extraction. Place it in a acid free page protector and make several copy's of it before stashing it in a cool, dry place.
Lots of folks here to help out along the line.

I had a triple pickle 68 NY Coupe...great car. I hope you have the trim...makes these cars special. Enjoy.

Great project. The 68 New Yorker is a really good looking car. Keep us posted on it. I have one just like it that needs similar work.

That is awesome to see someone with such a close project! Tomorrow I'm probably going to be filling in the trim holes (properly) for the pieces between the rear windows and the back windshield since I'm going vinyl-less. It should be a fun project if it's not bone shakingly cold out again.

Now that’s a proper C-body trailer!

Why not replace the vinal top? They look so good on those cars.
