Hi Folks; My Headliner in my 66' 300 separated at the rear seam this last Winter. Material is still good ,just the stitching failed. Trying to remove the headliner is another matter. Do I have to remove the Weatherstrip from around the doors? There is a Chrome trim strip that runs the full door lengths, does that have to come off as well? It hides the tack strip to remove the liner. Can't see another other way, without tearing the material. Help! Thanks, John.

The headliner should be attached by hooks on both the sides and rear glass and is under tension. You really can't just remove one side to relieve that tension. To release the tension from the rear you normally have to remove the glass to expose the hooks although some have claimed not to. At any rate it will turn in to a big job and at that point you may want to replace the whole headliner. If it were me I would find the best interior guy & see if he could repair it without removal. Some of those guys can work magic.

Yes you have to gently pull the weatherstripping to access the screws that attaches the chrome strip to the car. Ditto sun visors, coat hooks, sail panels, etc.
From there the headliner is ready for removal.
BUT I let my professional handle it from there.
Upholstery guys are particular and I learned it is very important to leave the material on the bows. The pros then use the old headliner as a REFERENCE to stitch up the new headliner onto the bows for a correct fitment.
I did post my install on this thread

Depending on where the stitch has failed, you may not need to drop it to repair it!!! Study up on how to do a hidden stitch, you might surprise yourself? Good Luck

Thanks very much C barge, I was carefully looking at mine, and I could just see the screw heads under the Weatherstrip. Not a simple case of trim removal! Stubs, I like your idea, its the rear panel close to the back window. I think I will let a pro look at it , before I go any deeper.

If your upholstery guy looks at you stupid when you mention a hidden stitch and says that they can't do that, RUN!!!!! Find another shop! Good Luck

Congratulations!!!! I hope I'm as lucky on finding parts for my 1967 Imperial crown as you!

I'm looking for motors for the following.
Bucket seats both.
Windshield wipers.
Back windows

Also it needs the wood trim inside the car, does anyone know if I can buy that or anyone makes them.
Thank you all!
Jose'

Thank you for the info! I do appreciated!

Are you able to help me with these
Bucket seats motors for both.
Windshield wipers motors.
Back windows motors

Thank you again.

Jose'
The power seat motors cant help you. However I would suggest pulling the seats out and removing the frame, lube the crap out of all moving points. Then hook up a power source and hopefylly it works.
Wiper motor...2 speed?? Or variable speed??
I get my power window motors from National Moparts.
Cheers
