Quick question, getting the parts together to rebuild the front end in the wife's Fury. Does anyone know if the torsion bar dust boots for an A or B body will fit? Having a hard time finding info on this. Thanks.

Apparently the A and E body (with part number 2071173) ones are too small.
The correct part number is 2229250, and is not available NOS, at least where I can find it. However, if you search eBay for Mopar B body torsion bar boot dust seal 2229250 you find listing such as this which claim to fit:
MOPAR Torsion Bar Boots and Clips Set Kit A B C and E Body | eBay

Hard to say - the picture from the Mopar Mall site clearly shows the number 2071173 cast into the rubber. From my research that number is claimed to be too small for C bodies, but the Mopar Mall vendor lists them as correct for C body and Imperial, and in their drop down menu at the bottom it says "Replaces MoPar p/n's 1671446 - 2071173".

The other auction it's impossible to see if it's the same mold...

I don't know - I guess you spends your money and takes your chances which is what I'll have to do when the time comes.

I wonder if they actually are too small, if one can warm them up in boiling water and stretch them to fit? Any thoughts on that from the FCBO hive-mind? Further to that, on the AMD site, it claims they're made of super-stretchy material and will fit the C body bars: Torsion Bar Boot Set - Dodge Plymouth 62-76 A-Body; 62-72 B-Body; 70-74 E-Body Torsion Bar Crossmembers | X-Parts X396-1462-1

The difference is where the boot goes around the frame, you could carefully trim that part and use it, otherwise they are the same.

Paging @Dobalovr -- is P/N 2229250 still around?

There is a discussion of which boot fits C-bodies in an older thread, but several folks (including @MrMoparCHP and @LocuMob) ordered the smaller ones and they were indeed too small. One member @jippek did buy the correct ones off eBay, but the link does not work anymore.

@Zymurgy has reported that Gary Goers apparently used to sell them at the time, but Mr. Goers has sold off his business and I am not sure whether @QQE (who took over the GG business) does offer them. I'd love to buy from @QQE if they are available?

Sorry @ayilar that part number doesn’t come up in any of our databases. Judging from the sequence its a mid 60’s part number.

I’ll take a set! 1970 Polara
