I'm having an argument with a guy from national moparts about a set of calipers for a 72 newport. I did a drum to disc swap. I sent pictures and one caliper fits fine on the rotor but the other is about a 1/4 inch too narrow. He tells me just install it and bleed it and it'll be fine. There's the problem. I can't install it it doesn't go over the rotor, at all. I told him he might have sent a b body caliper, but he disagrees. What do you all think??

the one you have on the car is upside down. as for the one in your hand, just compress the piston and you'll be fine.

Somebody went through this on the forum. Might be worth doing some searching to find the thread.

I can't remember who it was.

I did search it. I didnt get anywhere with it. I got it might be police taxi and one isn't. That doesn't help when the caliper is too small

So why is the moparts guy arguing it'll work? What am I missing??
He doesn't know the difference.

I've never dealt with them so I have no idea how good or bad their customer service is. Maybe one of the Canadians like @cbarge that deals "face to face" with them can shed some light on it.... Or tell you who to ask for.

Ok i just needed to know I'm not losing my mind. People just keep on sending me the wrong things. 1 for 5 so far.

A C body rotor measures in at 1.250 inch.
A B body rotor measures in at 1.000 inch.
CALIPERS are different due to the width of rotors.
One of your calipers is a B & E body caliper.
Simple as that.

National Moparts is usually excellent with their customer service. Whom are you speaking to there? Send them that last pic and speak either directly to Nigel or Sammy. Both are true blue fellas and won't steer you wrong. If they've made an error, then they'll take care of you.

Send them this pic:
