    unfortunately not at all help, mine is really stuck, wary of stripping the small threads if i make up a plate.... the only thing on the car that isn't over engineered 8(

    Greetings from across the pond, 66 polara convertible with a 742 rear end, got the pinion nut and washer off, tried a lot of brute force with a 2 leg puller but the pinion refuses to budge... any ideas?

    greetings from sunny england, my 66 didn't have trunk springs fited, finally sourced a set...now the question is...how do they fit...pictures would be great please, does the 66 have rollers on the ends? and if so can you buy them? cheers folks ian

    the tank is closer it's two and a half inches longer.......longer bolts and straps were supplied......and the straps wrapped around the tank..if youve never done this before why the questions? i'm trying to get info from someone who's actually fitted one....as above....

    read the thread mate...we're fitting a 67 taank in a 66...the 67 tank is longer.....some have managed it....i dont like the lack of clearance......

    the diff moves around a bit on the springs.....also a minor rear end shunt can move a tank a half inch really easy!

    i was going to bend the welded flange over to create more room, basically bought a new tank from canada.....will cost an arm and a leg to ship back, but felt i was too close to the diff cover for comfort. thanks for the pic and the tme youre taking. regards ian
