Lets Play A Game: Last Of The Convertibles

Thank you @1970FuryConv for posting the info about PM27N0D131512 -- this is a new N-code Fury iii 'vert for the records (@70 Sport Suburban had provided me the info last Christmas and then again back in April of this year, but for some reason I did not immediately post it and apparently forgot to do so).

The seller is correct -- it will be a shame to see this car disappear, as the engine and the steering wheel alone are worth more than the $2,150 ask: "Rare car, factory 383 HP 4 barrel, bucket seats with Buddy seat, factory 8-track player in dash, wood wheel, no AC, factory chrome wheels, the car has a clear title. I had it running for about a minute last year, engine sounded perfect, ran it on a bottle of gas. It was parked 10 or 12 years ago because he lost his license. Part the car out and it's worth more than my asking price. Hood is perfect and rust free. Has around 80,000 miles on it which are actual. Does have rust but is restorable. Rear frame rails have a few small spots on them but can be fixed. Floors are not bad at all. You see the rest."

Thanks to @TimS we now have CE27L0C120480 -- a 1970 Newport convertible with a SBD of Sept. 15, 1969. Originally born EF8 dark green, this nicely equipped 'vert has been repainted red. It is for sale in Indiana.

Rich had converted the car to a console shift car but the gent that he sold it to removed the console and put it back to a column shift car. This was before JPMODL bought the car. That car had a lot of NOS parts on it, some of which I sold to Rich after I sold the '70 triple black Polara convertible nearly 30 years ago.
The work that Rich did is simply incredible. For those who are interested, there's tons of eye candy in this 2024 FB post by the then-owner in North Carolina. I am not on FB but somehow can access the pics. Here are a few samples for records here.

Fender tag for records -- loaded car, SBD was Sept. 3, 1969:

I really dont like the current wheels on it. Rich originally had Keystone Classics on it when done in 98. I liked those on it. The road wheels were later added and it was really classy looking.

I notice the console was removed too. This car went through a ton of alterations, back and forth. I wanted it bad in 99/2000.

And we have another TNT 300 convertible. This ER6 red, loaded ragtop has a SBD of October 20, 1969. CM27U0C146767 is the 32nd U-code Chysler 300 ''vert of which I know. She is currently for sale in California:

Looks like the car is currently listed here by @fast68 , here is the posting he put up….
For Sale - 1970 Chrysler 300 TNT 440 Convertible

Do the light bulbs come out of the amber plastic housing on the hood-mounted turn indicators, or is there a source for the light bulb assembly? 1966 Sport Fury.

Found this white 1970 Newport 440 convertible that is for sale in Chelmsford Massachusetts on facebook markeplace today. Asking price is $14,250 but is negotiable. It was posted 3 weeks ago. Sorry no core support... or fender tag information on this one. Not sure if we have it already but I figured I would post it anyway.

Thank you for posting. Would be great to get the VIN. Why? Because the 440 is not original (as stated in the ad): the radiator is a 22-incher (P/N 2998964 if I read correctly, which matches my dataset of radiators for 1970 Mopars), so if its is a 440 then it can't be the original engine (no 22" rad was available with a 440 in 1970 AFAIK).

Here is the FB link.

PS: I see a tiny bit of the fender tag on the RHS of the last photo you posted.

He says it had an engine swap. I see the good manifolds on there.

From the ad.....

Chrysler Newport Convertible 1970, 440 engine, 3 speed automatic transmission on the floor, electrical power top, electrical window.

Car run very well and smooth. Changed tires 5 yrs ago, changed power steering 3 yrs ago, changed suspension 3 yrs ago, new exhaust and tuned up done 1 yr ago, changed ball joints this summer.

Please note that the car is not original. 38k since engine swap. Small oil leak at engine pan. Driver seat has small tear.

Price negotiable but will not accept low ball offer. If the car is posted, it means that it is still available.

I checked my records, and this is a new one. I have 105 Newport 'verts in my files, this one ain't one of them AFAICT.

Edit: @Snotty once mentioned that he knew of someone in CA who had an N-code Newport and wanted to put a 440 in it. He never specified if the color of that car, so there's an off-chance that this is it -- but it's a very small probability. See here

I received a fender tag pic, but it is for CS43T2C111382 -- a GF7 NYB 4dr hardtop with V1X black vinyl top, H7Y5 gold interior and H53 AutoTempII. The markings on the rad support match, so it is definitely the one on this Newport. That may be why the ad stated that "the car is not original".
