Selling the 300....

My guess from your comment would be he never showed up... Because if he did you'd be on here going hey guys look at me i bought a car for 1,000 bucks put 500 in it including used tires cause I don't care about safety, and I sold it 4 weeks later for 6,500... I made a cool 5,000 dollars profit and I barely even looked at the car. I learned everything about it from these guys who I told I love the car so they were all very helpful. They told me everything I needed to know.

Guess you will never know

I'll bid a decent $3000! This car regardless of what was paid which I would not have posted personally is worth $3000 to $4500 in current condition.

It's a sharp cruiser with some need of attention like most of our c-bodies here.
I'd like to see some underbody shots to make sure that the floors Stub frame and trunk aren't rotted...

It’s pretty comical to me that you can make an educated guess over a sarcastic comment made on a forum lol No matter what I tell you, you have already made up your mind that you’re not going to believe me
J I could say I’m keeping it and then you would automatically assume I sold it for next to nothing. I could say I sold it and gave the guy a break and took 100 off the full price offer but you will assume that he never showed up lol or that I didn’t give him enough of a break haha I still find it funny that you and others on here get so worked up over something that really doesn’t affect you at all. But hey if that’s how ya’ll want to spend your free time, worrying about stuff you can’t control, then so be it J

At least he made more than 9 posts before selling. I'm just saying.

i think if he had paid say $3500 and had to sell and asked 6500 it would have been a tolerable asking price but since this member only paid $1000 which (I would have in a heart beat) but some members still feel the need to call members up on the carpet.
Now I don't know if they are joking or serious since we cant' hear the tone being used.

I'd do the same thing if I had to but I wouldn't ever post it here because I know I'd get a virtual a$$ kicking!

So when the time comes for me to let go of my car, I will do the right thing and give it to my daughter who is totally gaga over it provided she can take care of it properly.
If not, I will advertise it in other venues and let the members search it out and beat the crap out of the price and condition at that time!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hey we all joined together and gave him a hardy welcome... Why shouldn't we all show him the door... If he'd joined and told the honest truth I think some of us would feel differently. I'll leave it at that.

I don't know if I agree completely. The guy with the canted headlight Chrysler 300 was pretty up front and had a rough going over by some

I think he planned on keeping it for a while, if not he would have left the title open. He's a young guy too, and I don't fault him one bit, if he makes a few bucks on the car good for him. He got a good deal on it and did some work to it, he didn't have to mention on this list that his selling it either. Buy low and sell high if you can, which doesn't always work out that way. At least he got the car back on the road again, and someone else can enjoy it. I buy older cars as a hobby and do a little work to them and usually sell them after a few years of ownership. I usually break even or most of the time lose money, but it's a hobby and I enjoy fixing them up a little as much as my capabilities allow. The last car I sold I did make a little money on but it was a limited production car, that car I should have kept.

I think the moral of the story is:

We don't discuss money when it involves our personal posessions.
Nor do you say, Hey, how much did you pay for that or, How much did you get for it?

I paid too much and sold it for too little. Period.

I for one do not besmirch anyone who is out trying to make a buck to succeed in life or for the betterment of their family. What I think did him in is just the whiny way he went about it and making up this poor me sob story as highlighted below. :clapsarcastic:

Selling the 300....

I have read so many of these narratives and never thought I would be the one writing one… In life you have to do things that sometimes you don’t necessary want to do but must do to better your family. Long story short I have the opportunity to purchase our dream home. And to do that I need to sell our current home and pay of some debt. And to do that I am going to have to sell my recently acquired 1968 Chrysler 300.

The realtor comes over tonight to do an estimate on our house and if it will sell for what we need the process begins and the car will be for sale. If she says we cannot get what is necessary out of our current place then the car stays because we will be staying. Now what do you think its worth in its current shape? I need to get the most out of it as possible obviously to accomplish my goal but am willing to give someone on here a deal on a nice driver.

The story itself is so full of flies !!!!

He would of been better off posting a picture of himself on FCBO with a cardboard sign....
