hi my 73 new yorker side flashers just light up but dont flash ,all other flashers work ,any ideas dont like electrics. thanks dave

I assume that what you refer to as side flashers are merely the front side marker lights. They do not work as turn signals. They light up whenever the parking lights or headlights are turned on, together also with the red rear side marker lights (which might have been disconnected in a European car at some time, depending on the local legal standards).

These side-facing devices make the vehicle's presence, position and direction of travel clearly visible from oblique angles.

The law in the U.S. initially required lights or retroreflectors on vehicles made after 1 January 1968. This was amended to require lights and retroreflectors on vehicles made after 1 January 1970.

Front amber side markers in the United States may be wired so as to flash in synchronous phase or opposite-phase with the turn signals, but they are not required to flash at all, and they actually do not flash on old Mopars.

hi it a 73 and its got amber marker and a white flasher on front wing .

The amber thingy on the side is the side marker light mentioned in the post above. It does not flash.

The white thingy next to it is the cornering light. It also doesn't flash. whenever the turn signal on that side is activated, it lights up to illuminate the area on the side that you are about to direct the car to. If you are driving down a lonely road in the countryside in the dark and you are about to turn into some dirt road, that might actually help you not to end up in the ditch.

The long white one isn't supposed to blink. Those are "Cornering" lights. They come on to help you see when turning at night. They actually do help, especially out in the country like where I live. They also help to act as an alert when changing lanes on a highway at night. They should be a very bright white light. A was thinking of putting LED's in mine.
Great looking car by the way, maybe sometime you can get us some more pics!

If it's not just the bulb burned out, then I'm voting for a bad/corroded ground somewhere, most likely at the lamp assembly itself.
