Yup, all vent holes are clogged solid with rust. Even the vent line up to the charcoal canister is completely blocked with rust. Its been a problem.
On the drive up to Lake Tahoe this summer, going from sea level up to 8,000 feet on I-80, the tank became pressurized, and was pushing fuel into the motor, engine bogged down. Had to pull over and manually vent it. You should have seen the fumes, geez! The new cap from Stant isn't properly venting either. It's supposed to allow air in or out after a certain pressure. I think I'll try putting the original one back on.
Will be making all new lines.
I will try to remove the rust out of the vapor separator with "Evapo-rust", just ordered a gallon.
