73 Monaco wagon

Put the roof rack rails back on the roof. Stainless has aged well.

Changed the oil this evening. That was a fulfilling accomplishment. I drove the car to work today. It needs to start earning its keep. I like having Bluetooth synced with my phone.

Paul I think it would be cool if we could ever track down any information specific to the development of the early 70’s Monaco’s. I have read information from news articles of that era, but I would love to hear of firstbhand accounts from people who were on the development teams...things like how they decided to go with hidden headlights, any history about decisions on options to put on the cars, etc.

Yes that info would be interesting, like what inspired the unique front end design?
Hey when you were at the yard, did you get a picture of, or do you remember the condition of the rear bumper on that yellow wagon? Mine is twisted up, would love to find a straight example.

The bumper is not too bad as I recall. See below. It is covered in dirt unfortunately, where the car has settled. I NEED the step ups though! If you would take the bumper, I need that step up! Were the rear bumpers unique to Monaco’s?

(You gotta leave me some parts in the yards, Paul! Need to have at least four or five remaining decent examples of a running 72-73 Monaco wagon on the road! Not just your three!)

Lol it's about that time of the year to begin yarding again...I have an addiction to buying crap I don't really need :p

Haha...I had to buy a whole car to get a complete unbroken grill!

So. The passenger side mirror fits my car. It came off a Town and Country (this one), I think it’s a 73. And even though it fits my car, it has a base 60484 that is ever so slightly different (imperceptibly wider at the base and assembled to mirror subassembly differently) than the NOS passenger base 60485 that I bought from Murray Park. It’s good enough for now. I got it on my door and am happy to be able to see better when backing up.

I like this Plymouth sedan. Pity it’s so rotted. Great color.

Lots of usefull parts on that 71 Plymouth...you pulled some nice stuff too, good job!

Hate seeing the Plymouth rot. Really like the color and interior.

Scrounge while the scrounging is good. Leon commented about randomly crushing stuff, as I left, to motivate ‘pickers’.
