This whole thing is obv not gonna go away as quickly as Uncle Sammy thinks it is. We have 6 people out at work: 2 posit tests and 2 pending. The other 2 are not showing symptoms but worked closely with others that are having symptoms. One of the guys that went out this AM worked with me on Wednesday so I am prob gonna have it. Guess we will see soon enough. So far, so good. It seems all this distancing, masks, etc, is not helping much. Where is that 5 min test, we need those all over the place. We also need a quick tests for antibodies.

Do you have a crystal ball to see how things would look if distancing was not being practiced???
I think this would be a hell of a lot worse if we weren’t practicing social distancing.

I think the virus is going to have its way and in the process we will destroy our economy. For those not at high risk, we'd be better off all getting it and being down for a couple weeks. The way we are doing this is going to extend the whole process. The distancing is saving some from getting it, yes - but now it is trickling along. Prob is, even if only a handful of cases are out there it can return to pandemic status very quickly.
It's been said by several comments that the govt is at least partly to blame for the lack of preparedness. While it is tough to prepare for something like this, we should have at least had a big stockpile of PPE. Once again, the corruption in this country has been proven. Spend all day looking for ways to hand out money. Even in the stimulus bill, and you can bet Pelosi is gonna get re-elected if she chooses to run again. And now they have that Navy ship in NY Harbor and it only has like 25 patients on it. Why? Too much red tape, or so we are told. The govt complicates the hell out of everything. Why can't they take the cardiac patients that they cannot take to the hospital there? WTF???????????? Or why can't they take 1000 covid patients?
As I have said before and will continue to say, the govt is not interested in solving problems. Pay close attention to the energy markets. You think that the reduced need for oil and then on top of that an argument betw 2 of the largest producers in the world is a coincidence? It's not. All meant to drive the price way down so a few in high places can load up and wait for the ride up. Then they have a briefing every night where govt officials pat each other on the back.
The WTO has even been shown to be corrupt, they spend more $$ on travel than anything else.
I say we back out of all these multinational orgs and start taking care of ourselves. Last night Trump said we have spent abt 6 trillion in the Middle East.....and for what? You must have to be a friggin idiot to be elected to a state or federal job. Actually, it is prob more corruption, might just be the Military Industrial Complex Ike warned us about. After all, is there anyone on the planet that cannot be bought?

Just to lighten things up....
I was out today... A trip to a friend's to drop off some of his parts I sand blasted for him and then to the hardware store. It's the first decent day we've had in a couple weeks.
A couple things... There's a $$ country club near me. IIRC, it's $10k to join... The course had a lot of golfers on it. More than the usual 50 degree day would. Lot's of fishermen out too. The season opened this week and the shore along the creek had its usual crowd of people for this time.
I'm not sure what to make of it.... It's been a long winter and people have been cooped up. Are they just not worrying about it? A lot of those golfers aren't what I would call young...

Not sure I am capable of calming down. You should have heard me last night after the kids were fooling around and I had to go to the emergency room. My head almost exploded.
