Why is this happening?

Makes me think back to when my buddy told our boss “I might work for you but you sure as hell don’t own me”.

Wow and sad.

I could understand Goodyear -as an employee- does not want you to be political (while at work !) and wearing any slogans/shirts/flags/political statements whatsoever.

But what you do in your free time......

Sorry, I may be being thick here but it looks like GoodYear is denying any affiliation to the Acceptable/Unacceptable screenshot. Can anyone confirm the screenshots of the BLM ignorance was distributed by GoodYear?

I agree but in today's world so many are shady, suspect and guilty even if only by association.

I absolutely agree 1000%, If I get fired for saying "All lives Matter" I'm getting a lawyer. The reason I ask is that I've ordered Titan tractor tires, Titan bought the Ag tires from GoodYear but they still market them as GoodYear. If this is verified, I'm going to give them ****......Make them Feel the Pain. lol

Did you read - carefully - the second paragraph in Goodyear's statement shown above? It states: The company said that it does not tolerate any form of harassment or discrimination in the workplace and as a result asks associates to “refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equity issues.”

Looks to me like they have doubled down on allowing BLM attire, etc.

Political affiliated slogans are not allowed so that's automatically in conflict with BLM material, which is "acceptable". :wtf:

Just another corporation that's virtue signaling so they look good to the MSM.

Goodyear doesn't even make white sidewall tires anymore so eff'em anyway!

I just tried to chat with GoodYear and asked them for clarification on the statement. They had me wait for 25 minutes, started at 152nd in line. When it was finally my turn they cancelled the chat.

I will continue to tie up their chat every opportunity I get.

Goodyear tires suck anyways.

My 18 Ram came with them.....

I replaced those junk tires!!!!

Fuggem... No lives matter... right now I'd happily off anyone for a smoke. As this **** continues to unravel going into November, I don't see myself developing a better attitude about any of this BS either.

The good news I get to look forward to, no matter which jackhole takes the election, we can count on more unfathomable nonsense as order of the day :wtf:

READ THE SECOND PARAGRAPH.

GOODYEAR DID NOT CREATE THE MESSAGE.

fake news. This is what’s wrong with the world today. People only read what they want.

Everybody has access to company letterheads these days. Any College kid could create that in less than 5 minutes and have it posted to millions of people before the company is even aware. And there are two different versions.
A rouge employee maybe, a fired employee maybe, a stupid internet kid highly likely.
Corporate message from a global company not a chance in hell.

Guaranteed if it was internal, that person likely doesn’t work there anymore or is now on probation or work plan where they have to review diversity training.
At least they would be in my workplace.

I would hope not. They could have sounded a little more upset about it IF it wasn't them.

None is so blind. . .

When I bought my '70 Mercury in the early nineties, it had Good Year Eagle GT Plus 4's on it. They were 225/70 R15 size. I got my Newport just slightly after the Merc and decided that I would rather have the Eagle Plus 4's on the Newport so, I had them switched over. I ran those tires on my Newport every summer until 2013 when I had to replace them because they were worn out, no more tread. :D

Because they had performed flawlessly for me, I went to a local Good Year dealer to order a new set and was told that they weren't making them any longer. I never ran into any problems with those tires and they may well have been the best tires I've ever owned. Because I couldn't get them again I bought a different brand. I haven't bought any Good Years since so, I can't comment on their quality nowadays. I wasn't angry at Good Year, I just got deals on other tires.

Now, on to the present issue. Does everybody remember Anita Bryant and Florida Orange Juice? IMO, that was when the left first realized that they could get away with this **** and force companies to cave. I am absolutely sick and tired of the way that the left has been getting these businesses to cave to left wing causes ever since. I have been suggesting on other forums that I'm on, that when these companies cave for the left, those of us on the right should use the same tactics as the left and tell these companies that we won't support them if they cave in to the left. I don't want to put the companies out of business and cause job loses, just scare the crap out of their upper management and make them realize that we, who lean more to the right, are a force to be reckoned with and that we are not going to put up with this **** anymore. I say good for your president for saying what he said. Maybe, just maybe, this Good Year incident is the beginning of our side standing up, finally.
