    Rear shocks

I suggest you buy nos shocks on ebay instead of the junk sold today. Kyb/Monroe are a shadow of their former self. I am not a fan of bilsteins but i love adjustable shocks as they work well, pricey though. I looked on e bay - there was a set of nos shocks that would fit your car for $89.00.

    1977 Chrysler Town & Country

I wonder what happened to the deluxe hub caps. Neither of our wagons had those growing up, but I do like the looks of them. I will have to try and find a set at some point. I do have some memories of chasing down the hubs caps when they would pass you flying off when you drove the car like a...

Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

...on the basis of his experience with his 1973 Newport Navajo, but now it is time to change Buttercup's fronts. I just ordered a set of KYB KG5512, which I have installed on several C-bodies (1970 G-code & L-code Polara 'verts, driven 4k+ miles with them; 1970 U-code 300 'vert, driven 1.5k...

Front End Rebuild - Firm Feel or any other options?

Unlike coil springs, the less tension on a torsion bar, the LESS resistance it offers to bumps and dips. Which means "too soft" for any kind of spirited and SAFE driving, no matter how "cool" it might look. There is a brake trick my friend learned from some city cops years ago (who had '74...

'66 Imperial Lower Control Arm Bushing

Yesterday I managed to assemble the car with new LCA bushings, KYB shocks, front strut rubber and lower ball joints (upper control arm bushings and ball joints still pending). What a difference in driving experience. Before the car pulled to one side when braking. That is gone now. I am...

Front End Rebuild - Firm Feel or any other options?

I'm pretty sure it was Firm Feel that sold me the Bilsteins. It added a bit of harshness but the tradeoff was it cornered very well. Of course the whole suspension was new with the rear sway. I was very happy with it. The torsion bars are either broken or they are good, no? The Firm Feel guys...

A few more photos. PO put KYB Excel-G shocks all around, as well as replaced the leaf springs/shackles/bolts, and put on new brake shoes, cylinders, soft lines and hard lines. Passenger side front brake. Inspection cover was left off after the rebuild. Not sure why, but PO included it with...

...firmer than the base setting. Combined with the Chrysler factory (parts book) HD shocks on the back, it was a good combination. In current times, everybody talks about "new car ride" and "smooth", but I want "firmer than base stock", which nobody mentions, other than possibly KYB. Enjoy...
