Yep, gonna do all of that once it’s all vacuumed, charged and operational. A/C hose is pretty thick already but I’m gonna make sure it isn’t directly touching any metal. Thanks Ross!

Nice! I would try to move that hose that is above the condensor and touching the radiator yoke in several places away from the metal, as it may rub through. At least put something as a sort of barrier that will take the rubbing rather than the hose itself. Same with the one I can see on the...

What to do? Coolant leak 69 318.

I had a spare bypass hose lying around but was for my 73 wagon. I ordered and got the correct bypass hose locally for a paltry 18 bux. New clamps too. I will start pulling it apart once I get a new pump and nipples in my hands. Then I will discover the leak location. It leaks pretty good to the...

What to do? Coolant leak 69 318.

I don't think you want to change to a '70 up pump. First issue is the outlet is on the wrong side. Then the heater hose and bypass nipples are part of the casting and not separate screw in nipples. If the new nipple doesn't cure the leak, the earlier pumps aren't hard to find or real...

    63 Imperial PCV hose routing?

I'm having a hard time to find out how the routing of the hoses for a 63 Imperial PCV go. Maybe someone can help me out. As you see in the picture the open end is connected to the air cleaner which I think is wrong but cannot find anything in the FSM. From what I know the PCV usually has on...

    Brake booster issues

I know hose is new and not clogged as is fitting on engine side. Pulling it off with engine running and putting my thumb there , there's plenty of suction and no collapsing hose.

General cooling question - GM version

My son owns a very nice '76 Buick Skylark with the 260/4.3L Olds V8 without air. He's had three occasions in which the upper radiator hose has blown clean off the radiator! The hose and neck are unharmed. And, yes, the clamp is super-tight. The hose is three years old, as is the aluminum...

Usually heater valve is outboard, heater core towards center of vehicle 5/8" hose in 1966 1970 started with one hose 1/2" Chrysler didn't use 3/4" heater hose on USA cars in the 60's and early 70's

Repetitive Fuel Leak 69 Chrysler 300

You're seeing things just as I see them there. Either that's a 3/8" hose going into that pump or a badly swollen 5/16" one. I advise our O.P. to get new, good quality rubber, not AutoZone's generic stuff. Gates Green Stripe was mentioned as a good standard.... I should check up on this, as...

1973 318LA Engine, Low fuel pressure.

Disconnect the inlet hose to the fuel pump and put the hose in a container of gas. If it pumps nice and strong, then you might have a blockage somewhere. It could be the line from the fuel tank or maybe the screen on the pickup is clogged.

Looking for the end of a vacuum line. (Where does it go?)

Cool, thank you. If you had a leak in this hose, would it effect engine performance at all? I am tracing what feels like an intermittent engine miss.

is make choke plate open enough - 69 chrysler 300

If the car is running, then that choke isn't opening all the way. Check the vacuum choke pull-off (that gold piece with the hose attached). Take the hose off, push the pull off in and cover the nipple where the hose was attached with your finger. If releases, it's bad. It should then release...

Crush washer on front drum rubber line to brake cylinder?

FWIW, I've used the washer provided with the cylinder and hose. Copper makes for a good seal. If one comes with your hardware, I would use it, but if not, I wouldn't seek it unless specifically instructed to use one.

    66 plymouth fender tag

CAP system has a hose from a air cleaner snorkle that goes to the oil fill cap on the valve cover. Vacuum draws air from the snorkel. Non CAP system does not have this hose, vacuum pulls air thru the oil fill cap

What to do? Coolant leak 69 318.

The leakage could be the threads into the pump body, but as a first try, loosen the clamp and raise it up on the hose a little. The clamp should be on the smooth area between the fitting's threads, and its raised lip on the end. If clamping on the fitting threads, it may not seal. It looks like...

Repetitive Fuel Leak 69 Chrysler 300

For good measure, I went online to check what was on the AutoZone website. One roll of Continental brand fuel line hose (formerly Goodyear, I believe) and the rest were "Duralast" branded. Their house-brand hoses MIGHT be made by Gates, BUT that does NOT mean they are the same hose as Gates...
