I, too, cannot find any info on the brand leading me to believe this is probably a budget minded entry level guitar imported under this brand name. Your best bet may be taking it to a guitar store, preferably a mom and pop but credible place, or Guitar Center et al to for more details.

Starting is a major issue. Glad you got it fixed!!! I have no experience with the issue you had. I imagine poor ground created too much current draw through the starter, which kept it engaged with the ring gear on the torque converter for too long. Starters don't like turning at running engine...
