Upholsterer has my seat - unresponsive

Yes, actually. Jerry's Trim Shop across the street has had them since last spring. Stopped in last week for an update. Several fabric dealers are having difficulty getting the original style vinyl and carpet right now due to supply chain issues. I instructed them that I would much prefer to wait...

Upholsterer has my seat - unresponsive

No one, including Legendary, makes seat covers for the 67 Newport. And I'm no good with a sewing machine!

Upholsterer has my seat - unresponsive

I got em back. Went down to see the county sheriff, who recommended I call 911 and request a property recovery. Two cars and three deputies showed up. We went up to the guy's house and got the seats, headliner and bows back. Couldn't stomach trying to replace all this stuff.

Upholsterer has my seat - unresponsive

Well, he’s been my neighbor for almost 20 years. He and his dad used to do beautiful work - his dad had a 1966 Belvedere that he redid back to factory specs. Both his dad and wife died recently and it sounds like he’s in a bad place. Totally didn’t see this coming.

Upholsterer has my seat - unresponsive

Howdy everyone, A little over a year ago, a neighbor up the road, who is an upholsterer, saw me working on my 67 Newport and offered to do the interior for me. We agreed on a price, I gave him $600 to start ordering materials, and a couple weeks later he removed and took my rear seat...

Jimmy, thanks so much for that wealth of information. That's really helps me decide.

Single stage vs base clear: Persian white

Met with a guy today who may be painting by 67 Newport back in the original Persian white. We discussed single stage vs base clear. He believes for this car single stage might be preferable. It can be more easily spot fixed if ever needed, among other things. He says he uses very high quality...

    1967 Newport rocker moulding

Does anyone have advice on repainting the black filler? My Newport could use a freshen up between the lines.

How would you do it? Interior

Well, I just sprayed in a two-part epoxy primer. She’s on her way back now!

    Scrubbin’ and paintin’

I’ve been wearing out my knees and arms for the past two months. Primed the roof and pillars and threw a coat of paint on a few minutes ago. 1967 Newport

    Improvised cowl / cabin filter?

I’m thinking the loose, cheap HVAC filter material could work to filter while also allowing good airflow.

    Improvised cowl / cabin filter?

My 67 Newport gets a lot of leaves and dust blowing in from the floor vents and sometimes the heater box. Has anyone devised a way to improvise a cabin / cowl filter? If not, I’m gonna try.

How would you do it? Interior

Here is a bit more of the story. This was before I wire wheeled it. Luckily, no pinholes.

How would you do it? Interior

This is a section of my ‘67 Newport’s floors after scraping out seam sealer and giving it a quick wire wheel. The original paint and primer are tough, but there is some surface rust. Whatcha think? Sandblast it down to bare metal, prime, and paint? Or knock the loose stuff off and hit it with...

5-year-olds should probably not be messing around with vintage automobile electronics. [just being cheeky!]
