Upholsterer has my seat - unresponsive

Howdy everyone, A little over a year ago, a neighbor up the road, who is an upholsterer, saw me working on my 67 Newport and offered to do the interior for me. We agreed on a price, I gave him $600 to start ordering materials, and a couple weeks later he removed and took my rear seat...

Single stage vs base clear: Persian white

Met with a guy today who may be painting by 67 Newport back in the original Persian white. We discussed single stage vs base clear. He believes for this car single stage might be preferable. It can be more easily spot fixed if ever needed, among other things. He says he uses very high quality...

    Improvised cowl / cabin filter?

My 67 Newport gets a lot of leaves and dust blowing in from the floor vents and sometimes the heater box. Has anyone devised a way to improvise a cabin / cowl filter? If not, I’m gonna try.

How would you do it? Interior

This is a section of my ‘67 Newport’s floors after scraping out seam sealer and giving it a quick wire wheel. The original paint and primer are tough, but there is some surface rust. Whatcha think? Sandblast it down to bare metal, prime, and paint? Or knock the loose stuff off and hit it with...

67 Newport Custom - Pot metal molding

Howdy folks, My rolling restoration is going steady. Interior redo, paint soon. But what to do about the pot metal molding that is pitted? I feel bad about putting all this work into the car and trim it with pitted metal. Local replating shop quoted WAY too much. These lower moldings on the...

    Original dealership ad replica

My 1967 Chrysler Newport came from my hometown with the original dealer ad on the trunk lid. Paying homage to beloved car dealer (I know, a rarity), Mr. Joe Danna. Researched the correct font and laid it out in Photoshop this evening. I think it'll look nice once the car is repainted soon.

67 Newport Custom in East TN

Hello everyone. I just found this forum and am very excited about learning as much as possible. My uncle gave me a 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom when I was 15 years old (living in New Jersey) and it was my daily driver from about 1998-2005. With only 62,000 original miles when I got it, it...
