    Swedged stud, hub, drum removal

Yes, I mean the new ones. They are definitely larger than my old ones. I ordered them from rock auto Wagner BD61253 for front 11" drums. They have a .650 knurl. I will try to take the old one to the local store as you suggest. Thanks

    Swedged stud, hub, drum removal

Thanks for the help. Here's where I'm at now. I used the 5/8" hole saw in my drill press and drilled around each stud about an 1/8" into the old drum. The hub came out with a light tap. I knocked the studs out of the hub with a hammer. They came out easily. Now my studs appear too big in...

    Swedged stud, hub, drum removal

Thanks, I'm sure I can get the old studs out, even if I have to cut and grind then flush to the drum. I just don't want to damage the hub. I like to do things the right way, but often get impatient. My local machine shop does not have a swedge cutter and told me to cut the studs of flush then...

    Swedged stud, hub, drum removal

I am requesting help in swapping front drums on my '69 Fury. I need to swap out my finned 11x3 drums for some smooth drums. I have searched the forums on here and cannot find a procedure for a way to remove the swedged studs in a manner to prevent damage the hub. I have new drums and studs and I...

He is not. He hated it. His instructor made him do it over and over to get it right. He sure does like telling people he did it though.

Very sunny and warm here today, let the fury sit out in sun for a few hours and top works much better. Still doesn't go down flush, but close. I can get the boot on. I think I'm good to go now. Thanks for all the tips and concern for my issue.

Thanks, yes, I have owned the charger since 1992. Paint was done by high school biotech students. Not sure of paint code, but is original color.

Thank you for the links. The pump sounds good and lifts and lowers the top well. When it is lowered as far as the pump will lower it. I try to push it by hand the rest of the way down. The will push down a little further but springs back up. I am hoping to try it on a hot sunny day and see if it...

Thanks, it has actually been unseasonably cool this week. I did suspect heat will make it more pliable. I called the roof guy and sent some photos. It sounds like he is willing to work with me, if there is a problem. Your car looks very nice, I love the 70 grill and hood.
