If you happen to come across someone with a parts car I am looking for a rear bumper, trim around the tail lights, and a windshield for a 68 sport fury vinyl top.

Here is a picture of the dash panel in my 68 sport fury. It just has 2 little covers that fill that hole in the panel.

Going to convert to hei ignition. I need to go thru the entire brake system also. I think the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt and some new brake lines. I have a long list of stuff but winters are long here in Minnesota so I have plenty of time to get it ready for spring.

I am going to order a new one later this winter.

I finally got time to work on my newly acquired 68 sport fury 383. I rebuilt the 2bbl carter, put new plugs and wires in it, cleaned the distributor points, and hooked up a temporary electric fuel pump with a gas can because the tank has a hole in it. It runs awesome. No knocks, ticks, squeaks...

I guess for a couple hundred bucks it would be easier to replace the tank. I will have a few hours into cleaning and recoating it and probably still have junk when I am done. Thanks guys.

has anyone used the POR 15 tank sealer kit or the KBS coatings kit? Wondering if one is better than the other or if they don’t work at all?

I wish they would move to Brainerd International Raceway. That is only 30 minutes from my house. BIR is a huge area with lots of camping space. There are some backroads to cruise with beautiful scenery around the Brainerd area also.

Now you have me thinking stroker again. I don’t have a 440 laying around but I have a 400 that I was thinking of making into a 470 stroker.

Do you think it was reupholstered? The fender tag calls out vinyl seats but they are vinyl/cloth seats.

My initial thought when I was buying it was “sleeper”-stroker. Now I’m leaning towards a good mild build 383 and make it a cruiser. The a/c sure will be nice.

Thanks for all of the input guys. I should have been more specific. The modifications I had in mind are disc brake conversion, rebuild engine and add 4bbl, suregrip, maybe a set of block hugger shortie headders, 2.5” dual exhaust, and possibly repaint. I’m not going to do any crazy chopping to...

I recently purchased a 68 sport fury III 383 auto, factory a/c, power windows, vinyl top. As far as I can tell so far the car is all original with the factory paint and 87,140 miles on it. It is an Arizona car so it it rust free. Are these cars worth much if it is all original numbers matching...

With 2.76 gears it won’t win any drag races but it should sure cruise down the highway nice. I haven’t had a chance to do anything with it yet. It has an 8.75 rear. Hopefully sure grip but probably one wheel squeal.

Awesome. Thanks Marv. I tried using that same decoder but I must not have had the characters in the correct spots. Everything on the car seems legit except it has cloth seats and doesn’t have tinted windows. I can’t wait to get it on the road again.

Just bought it today. Can someone decode the fender tag? It has been sitting since last year so I need to clean the carb and get some fresh juice in it. Will be looking for parts this winter if anyone has a parts car laying around.
