66 New Yorker Rear window rust repair

That rear window rust can be rampant ... As cbarge said, you may likely to have to cut, form new metal and weld it back on. I would suggest finding a donor car for the metal part you want to replace, it will be easier this way.

    Strange reinforcement patch in trunk

Hi everyone, I've got a strange heavy steel reinforcement patch in the trunk of my '70 Sport Fury. It's only on one side (driver's side), and it's located just behind the rear stop light, on top of a seam between two trunk floors. I've taken a picture of the driver's side (where the patch is)...

'79 Volaré ignition and door locks - Will it fit?

I looked into the parts manual, and there is a unique number for all models, so I guess tilt or no-tilt column does not make a difference.

Removing push nut retainer without damaging them?

Hello everyone, Is there a safe way to remove the push nut retainer without damaging them? I'm specifically thinking about the large round retainers that are used on the studs of the rear bumper panel on my '70 Sport Fury (the panel where "PLYMOUTH" is written). I would like to keep them...

Techniques to remove the underbody protection?

Yes I've read about it too, and I even saw a video of a guy using dry ice. It seems indeed very efficient, but as I do not have a rotisserie, I'm working from under the car, which can be complicated for some techniques, including dry ice. However, I tried "freeze spray" (some sort of compressed...

Techniques to remove the underbody protection?

Thanks a lot for all your feedback on different techniques. As I see it, the secret ingredient is ... elbow grease and patience. My car is canadian built. That would explain indeed the big amount of undercoating I'm facing.

Thanks, the job is done. There was another pair of bolts inside the trunk, near the opening lid. So that makes a total of 2 bolts per side on the frame rail, and 2 bolts per side on the inside of the trunk.

    Trunk floorpan cutting advices needed

Yes, I know about that metal panel adhesive. It is used even in new car manufacturing, in some areas. I've already seen it at a car assembly plant (I work in the automobile industry). And they claim it is as strong as a weld.
