What causes this rust spot on the firewall?

Although I can see inside the car through this rust hole, it doesn't open up directly to the other side. Does the cowl drain down past this spot? This is a 68 Newport

Putting your car on a diet -- ideas on where to shave weight

I don't normally think about a C-body and weight reduction at the same time. With the 68 Newport I'm working on, however, I'm making it one of the project's parameters. Now, I'm not talking extreme steps, like acid dipping the fenders. But things that are within reach of a DIYer like myself...

    68 Newport project

I figured I'd start a thread on this project as some may find it interesting. What I've got is a 1968 Newport that was originally a 3-on-the-tree that someone converted to a 4-speed. I am not looking to restore it, rather, I'd like to make it nice but with some of my own touches to make it...

What is it with '68 300's that have '67 front ends?

This is the third time I've seen a 68 300 with the front end of a 67. Unless I'm seeing the same one in different places. Accident repair? Could some of them left the factory that way? 1968 Chrysler 300 Series | eBay

Was there an auto-adjusting rear-view mirror available in 68?

Check out this ebay listing for a 68 Newport 1968 Chrysler Newport | eBay It looks like the mirror is much fatter than normal and has a wire going to it. This particular car looks like it has a lot of other rare (for a Newport) options as well.

Move up to Chrysler '68 ... unveiling our latest C-body acquisition

Ok, to be honest, we've had this car in our possession since March but I've been waiting for a clear and sunny day to do it justice with some nice outdoor pictures. Well, yesterday was the day!

"Jiggling" fenders on my 68 300?

I can't tell if it's just a trick of the eyes or not, but to me it seems that if I go over a rough road the front fenders jiggle. I can definitely see that hood vibrate in certain areas, but I'm assuming that's because the adhesive that was used to tack the outer skin to the underside has...

    What's up with these 300's ????

I found two 300's for sale that seem to be amalgamations of the 67 and 68 model year. One is described as a 68 and the other as a 67. They both have 67-looking front ends and 68 rear ends. When I saw the first one I figured it was a 68 that was in a front end collision and repaired with 67...

New 1968 300 owner - now with pictures

I'm the happy new owner of a 1968 300 convertable! It's in what I would consider above-average condition for a 50 year old car, but it definitely needs some attention to get it to where I'd like it to be. Just wanted to say hello! I'm sure I'll be posting some questions here before too...
