I hope this isn't a stupid question. The front and rear bumpers on a ’63 Chrysler appear to be identical. Does anyone know if they interchange, or if the dimensions and/or mounting points are different?

not a stupid question, ive always wondered about that myself.
the optional bumper guard placement is different front vs rear

Chrrysler done this on other cars..
The 67-69 A body Barracuda's front and rear bumpers are the same.
I don't have a solid answer for you but it is highly possible.
Cheers!

What you can do to figure this out is compare part numbers. Download a 1963 parts manual here: Parts Manuals – MyMopar

Also download the parts interchange manual while you are there.

One of those should give you a definitive answer.

Thanks for the feedback - and for the suggestion @Big_John. After looking at the 1963 parts manual it appears they are different part numbers. Would be interesting to put them side by side and see what the difference really is.

Where is the fuel filler on a 64? A 63 has a door above the bumper. Is fuel filler behind the license plate? Is that the bumper difference?

@SGT FURY - The ’63 Chrysler front bumper is the same as the ’63 and ’64 880 front bumper. The ’63/’64 Chrysler rear bumper appears to be the same as a ’64 880 rear bumper.
