Would anyone know where to get a 1958 fuel pump bowl .
Car is a 1958 Dodge Custom Royal , engine is 350 CI .
I took the bowl off to clean it , when i re installed it i obviously tightened it to much and it shattered .
I think there may have been messed with before as there was no tightening wheel so i had to place a nylon washer between the bowl and the tightening screw flat bit .
I used a socket to tighten it and it shattered .
I'm thinking there may not have been a gasket either .
Or is there a aftermarket or other model fuel pump that would fit .
Cheers,
Greg

Perhaps it might be better to upgrade to a later model pump without the gasketed glass bowl and use an inline filter after the pump as the middle 1960s and later cars use? In the long term realm of things?

All of the non-Chrysler fuel filter bowls I've seen usually have a finger-operated "tightenning wheel" or a dedicated spring to hold things together without the need for screwdrivers and such?

Just some thoughts,

I was thinking that .
I have a friend who has 383 fuel pump that he is bringing over to me so i can compare the rocker arm to see if it is the same shape and length as mine .
These fuel pumps seem to be still available in Australia and the USA .

I upgraded to a later model fuel pump as CBODY suggested .
I had put a kit through the carby but it still had a flat spot with the old fuel pump .
With the later model fuel pump it starts straight up and no flat spot anymore .
But as i like trying to fix and save things from the scrap bin , i would still like to find the parts in the attached photos .
I did score a NOS Carter fuel pump , this is how i took the photos of the parts i need but i still want to rebuild the original pump .
None of the fuel bowls listed in previous posts by 58Belvedere seem to be a match.
You will notice the bowl i am chasing has a ridge on it .
Cheers,
Greg
