1965 pace car restoration

some more bits painted. I enjoy the little details of the zinc plated bits. Don't enjoy the hours it takes going through boxes looking for small clips and bolts but. I think I have around 4 cars worth of zinc plated bolts to choose from which helps. Radiator support should be black behind the grille, but I enjoy the crispness of the white. I can always black it out later on if I change my mind.

slowly stripping and blasting. takes me about 5 hours each one. Very slow but I am getting every last little bit which I couldn't guarantee if I had sent them out to be done.

Patience and a good back, I hurt just thinking about it! Looks good, you are fortunate enough to have a large blasting cabinet, that could be very handy indeed. Keep up the good work!

Like Locu said, that is one nice large blasting cabinet. From what I see in the pic's the fit and finish will rival Critters 71 GT which is also a beautiful car. Keep up the great work

I've been doing a little to the hood over the last 2 weeks. Had a few rust repairs to do. It was also quite rusty underneath where the matting was. I welded up the holes as I don't intend on putting another one in. I also fitted a new screen this week.

I am in awe of the restoration... I'd bow down to you but I have a bad back and knees... It wouldn't turn out good:lol::lol::lol:

I will drive hundreds of miles to see this car in person, when you have this beauty in your first car show. Just outstanding, I love your detail to everything.

Now I want to zinc plate my hood spring, I missed that earlier post. Did you do that yourself or did you send it out? If you did it yourself what product\process did you use?

Mike, you'll have to fly thousands of miles to see it. He's in Australia.
