1966 fury restoration

Great job on the car so far! I'm looking forward to seeing how things go.

I'm not sure if we have anyone else that's installed a Tremec in a C body yet. I had plans to do so, probably 12 years ago, when Keisler was selling the kit for the A's. B's, and E's, but I never got to that project.

I was wondering if you could do me a favor? I'm trying to ID a rear window for one of our members in Poland that's the same as the glass in your car. Any chance you could get me a fairly precise measurement of the height of the glass in the center? His is blown to bits, so he can only estimate what the height was.

Thanks, Jeff

I can see if I can get to it and take some measurements tomorrow. I will send you a message when I get them.

Thanks, but another FCBO member had one handy and got me the measurements.

Sadly, it turned out that I didn't have the window that the member in Poland needs.

OK so after waiting for what seemed like forever I finally have what I need to get her back on the road. I even have my paint so I can jamb it and start getting it on the road. The rear suspension is in, and the front is all torn down and ready to pull the engine So I can finish the transmission tunnel and then paint everything. I also got my wheels and tires all mounted up.

Well I finally hit a huge milestone in my build. The most time consuming part of scrapping, grinding and cleaning off old paint, seam sealer and surface rust is finally over. Now it's time to get her back together and on the road. I got the stub frame, floor, inside the roof, and underside cleaned up and sprayed. Gas tank is ready to go in once I make rear brake lines. Front suspension is in and hand tightened until I get weight on her. Next i have to get my front brakes built.

So I have 2 parts cars si I have 3 dashes so I took one and did some cutting to fit my speedhut gauges. I got it mocked up so now it's fiberglass fun time to make my custom dash. I want it to still appear somewhat stock and not a completely new dash. I still haven't decided on a radio yet. I want a bigger 7in I can plug my phone in and use my GPS. I have android auto in my ram 3500 and I love it so I want something similar but here is the start of the dash.

We little progress report. I got the trunk, doors and firewall all jambed. Got the engine back in, and the deck lid back on. And started on the dash. Now that the engine is back in I need to finish bashing my free b body header so they clear. I used the old torsion bars to get them close but knew I would have to go a bit more. Maybe one day I can justify the money for ones that should fit. But I'm OK if my headers are a bit ugly. Then I am going to cerakote them. Once I do that I can get her back on the ground. I'm also going to start getting my wiring harness routed and the brakes and fuel line done. There isn't much room to get to the electric fuel pump so I want to get the the fuel line and wires on the pump before I put the tank in. I have a 4 day weekend next weekend and hope to get a bunch more done.

She is starting to look like a car again. It's also really nice to finally see the color on it. I have only seen it on a color card.

So it's been a bit and progress has been a bit slow but she is coming together. The dash is in and the console mock-up is done. I have started on building the console but I'm still not 100% sure on on a few things with it.

Hood and fenders are back on. I have 3 hoods so I'm cutting this one up for the scoop. I was hoping to have it on the road last summer, but I had a few people nudge me into opening my shop before my car was done.

Well she is up and running and a few short test drives and a but of tire smoke. Next I need to get the holley sniper 2 and hyperspark installed so I can finish up the wiring.

The project looks and runs great! I wish I were a bigger fan of your rim choice, but to each his own.

I do like the the old style wheels. Problem is everyone has them so they have become me-too wheels. I hate going to car shows and seeing 4 styles of wheels. I'm 42 so these cars have been around my whole life. And after 42 years everyone is still running the same wheels, and all the cars look the same to me. Not to mention the tire choices for 15s are garbage.
But like you said to each their own. Hotrodders have always gone against the norm and modified their cars to their liking.

For a car like yours, this wheel would be my choice:
