1967 Monaco 500 with what engine?

In November I purchased a 1967 Dodge Marco 500 at the Palm Springs auction. This car has appeared on this forum in the past. It is the one that came out of the Vanderblink auction in SD in July 2020.
I am trying to figure out what engine is in my car. This is my first 60s MoPar. As a result, I am not familiar with Chrysler product engines of the era. My car was advertised as having a 440. I took that at face value, which was probably foolish.
Looking at the VIN, I now know that I have a true Monaco 500, but it was delivered with an “L” code engine. My research suggests that that is a 383 with a two barrel. The engine currently under the hood is a big block with a four barrel.
One can see a code on the intake manifold in the below photos. Also shown is the code on the engine block itself. If I’m reading it correctly, the engine was manufactured in the 28rd week of 1966. That suggests to me that this is not the original engine to the car.
Is my my car running a 440 taken from a 1966 Chrysler product?

Looks like the 440, but have to see the small flat "raised pad" behind the ac compressor

The date above the casting number is the date it was cast...
So for an early 1967 vehicle the block cast date would be mid to late 1966.....
Hence,, your car does have a 440 in it.....

And your research on the VIN is incorrect....
the fifth digit is engine...

So, again,, your car came equiped with a 440 and has a 440....

I got the “L” designation as a 383 from the “standard catalog of American Cars 1946-1975”. I guess they didn’t do very good research.

Was your car repainted? The YY1 code under the PNT column on the fender tag is for Medium Tan Poly… just curious. It’s the same code and color that my 68 Newport came with.

The 28 is the day the block was cast. Many cast in 1966 were installed in 67 models especially those dater around August 1 which is the switchover date for the next model year. There should be another number before the 28 which will be the month.
 
Were side marker lights an option in '67? Does the car have shoulder belts?

Looks like something leaking under the rad?

There is another number there but I can’t read it from the pic I’ve got. Will take another from a different angle.
 
Block casting dates WILL always precede vehicle production date by months, even up to 6+ months in some cases. Why? So the "green" cast iron block can cure a bit prior to going into the engine plant for final machining and build. Even then, the block is still considered "green" until after the break-in period and it has been through lots of hot/cold cycles.
