The comments on that site about the car are interesting. Some are dissing it for being a VIP yet has dealer-installed A/C, no PW and apparently is a radio delete. And to top it off - it has a 318. Talk about an odd bird for being a VIP.

Current bid is $3200, I don't know when the bid ends (?).

VERY odd it doesn't have a radio. However, while at the Pontiac Dealership, a 1981 Grand LeMans we delivered was FULLY loaded except....an AM radio ONLY. Why? Well, it was purchased by the bookkeeper's parents who were deaf and mute. The AM radio came standard. It was unusual but for a reason.

I was under the impression that VIP’s were full of options and came with big blocks? I would still love it parked next to my 300! I don’t think it will last long!

Nope, options are just that: optional. The VIP was just a trim level, giving you fancier trimmings, like the Gran Sedan/Coupe that came later (and my Gran has a small block, manual windows/seats/locks, no A/C, etc.).

I don't know why they wouldn't wash it up for this listing: a $50 detailing could make this beauty look like a a few thousand more! Maybe they think the "barn find" look will fetch more in today's market, or maybe the dust is covering something unfortunate... I sure hope this goes to a good home and not some derby guy

Wasn't it true for a lot of these mopar cars, that a certain car came "standard" with power windows or am radio or power brakes or power steering, but at the dealership you could have any of those items knocked off for $10 or $150 so it made a farce out of the "standard" concept and pricing?

I've never heard of that, but maybe. It seems a bit a$$-backwards to come with power things but then have a dealer remove them; it's more typical that a dealer would add things and make some money off of the extras.

OMG! Twin to my sweetheart!
She was my first C body after I moved to Ontario.
Except I had a radio and power windows.
She was rusty but the 318 never let me down.
I love to grab this car but 3 C's in a freshly built garage got me tapped out.
The flood of memories..but dont want to hijack this thread!.
