Hi, installing new carb and electric choke instructs ballester resister hook-up, I've done this before but have forgotten which lead is the hot, single blue or blue/brown lead. service manual doesn't indicate any symbol, also, can I make it simpler by just using a plastic electric snap, where you connect your incoming on one side and snap it onto the hot lead instead of using the little brass Y connection? I appreciate the help. Mike

If your "snap" connector is a fold-over "Scotch Lock", NO. The 1 into 2 brass connector is much better for a long-term adaptation.

Just some experiences,

I'd say put a meter on it to be sure. On my '65 I hooked up the Pertronix to the single wire. Not sure 68 is the same though.

all done, choke works, in the past I tried to save the factory wire, not this time, snip , this carb is much smoother and responsive than the carter which was just rebuilt. i also added a 1/4" wood spacer
