Lm looking at rechromein a Cpl sets of caps in the next little while....is on my to do list for the winter

I ve heard the type of metal is the problem with these.....good luck, tell us how it works out

Has anybody fully restored a set?
The entire wheel would have to be blasted and then. chromed.
And the Dome. And the cap on the later ones The Domes would be especially expensive because they are usually pitted. And the retaining clips on the caps are usually iffy.
The trim rings polished.
Don't forget the new set of lugs. Painting the center, also.
I can see restoring being up to 2 grand. :wideyed:

And how do you justify that in a 25 hundred dollar car?

On a resto like the Critters. Yes, well deserved. Any NYB that I've seen, not so much.

I would do it in a flash if needed. I plan on doing a set for Missouri when I widen two wheels.
You justify it through passion, not value

In your case, you'll only be chroming the center of the wheel like the factory did.
Most other people would most likely have to chrome the entire wheel.

Because you'd have the rim separeted from the disc for widening I'd say.
