What is the white box with the 2 handles on the wheel well ? I don’t recognize it.

Won't do much good inside the engine compartment. "Whoa, the trailer is swaying!! I must reach into my motor!" What????

Ya I use to mount them around the parking brake area, I was wondering what the hell it was doing in the engine compartment. I appears to be a old Kelsey Hayes unit. It'd be a good question to ask the seller, sort of 'Stump the seller' bet'cha he ain't got a clue.
Of course the units I installed were 'ahem' a bit more modern than the one above.
I have had two of the Tekonsha (spelling?) electric units. They don't have that large handle sticking out of them. I've liked them. Some people don't because they don't work if you're not moving.
What car is that? I'm trying to place that dash, what I can see of it.

Ah, yes, thanks. Mercury and the AMC American of the late '60s had a similar dash to each other. Five gauges with the speedo being the largest.

i own the car now . It runs okay enough to make home. Tires were from the early 80's and bounce badly at 40 mph. It was setting for a long time. Not bad at all for rust and seems to have all the trim. Glass is all good . Drivers window does not work and the door lock light stays on all the time, came with a new mirror for the right side. Transmission leaks real bad so that and a motor mount are the first things to sort out. Thanks for all your help. and i might as well remove that brake controller.
Since it sat for a long time, it will!

Update on the new yorker. Transmission is out at the shop being rebuilt. I have new tires on her as well as new shocks and brake pads on the front. rear shoes were good.No luck so far finding a dual exhaust to replace the rusted single exhaust. I have the carb soaking and it really needed a good cleaning. Seats are out bathing in sunlight and treated with vinegar to kill the mold that was growing . Also installed a replacement remote control divers mirror . I do not want to move passenger mirror beacuse of the 2 holes it will leave behind.
Somewhere i need to find a drivers seat switch because the center knob is missing. The hardest thing for me to sort out is 3 power windows that do not work and the 3 power motors that move the seat. If this all gets fixed it will be a very nice ride. thanks for all your help

Nice New Yorker!! I would not recommend that you use any of the classic car exhaust people that advertise in Hemmings or the other classic car sites. I've used them, and had terrible results on more than one occasion. The mufflers and resunators are as cheap as they come. I ended up going to a local custom exhaust shop and they fixed me up. Now I have an exhuexh system that does not rattle and sounds great!! Only drawback is that they well the pipes instead of bolting them together. Best of luck!!
Finding? Just take your car to a local, good, muffler shop and have them build you a set. That's what I did. This is an original single exhaust car.
