Hey guys .....I have only been part of the forum for a short time now. As I explained when I registered I have had a passion for the 69 Sport Fury and The 70 Hurst 300.
Well I guess that passion has led me down a shaky path. Sometimes we make decisions that may not be the right one at the time....and sometime things seem to work out just right. Unfortunately not in this case. I purchased this car , started to do some research and found you guys!!! that was a great thing...and thanks again for all your input and suggestions. I even found this car in a post here....its the one with those snazzy challenger wheels on it!!
So here it goes....I spoke with the guy who was selling as a buddy of mine found it nearby. When speaking with the owner at the time he described it as running and driving and a fairly solid body....scale in the trunk and a weak driver side rear floor. He also said the interior was fair...he send some pix and it did not look all bad...based on his description and my buddy's eyeballs I bought and had it towed to my buddy's house. Oh ...did I forget to mention the drivers side window was busted!!!
This past week over the spring break I got to take a look at the car.
First...it will run as long as it gets fuel dumped in the carb or ether shot in....possibly fuel pump. Leaking coolant from the rear of the engine ...fairly certain its a freeze plug. Its a 318 with a 727.
Side window is knocked out ...but I have a new one.
Interior is shabby to say the least ...will need covers, one seat back is broke...dash cracked ...and there are some wires to nowhere as the dash is apart. As in my one posts there is no power to dash accessories at the moment. I purchased a new shift knob and the console is not broken but missing the lock button....Headliner is ****!!!
The body is very straight...one minor ding in the right rear quarter. rust behind both rear wheels...not horrible...and starting in lower front fenders. bumpers have a small ding. Its also missing three of the six Pips on the side. You can also see where they seamed the roof together needs some attention as the lead or filler has come out. Drivers side rear floor has a hole...and the trunk also has a hole on the right side...and more than just scale...figure it needs a floor! Oh...almost forgot...some idiot trimed the front of the front fenders to make sure the front tires did not rub...duh!!!
So guys I'm listing the car here if someone can use it. I recently learned that my daughter has some health issues and that I am going to have to contribute some cash to her care and this huge undertaking / project will not fit into my life at the moment.
I have about $3000 into ....just saying that is what I have into it ...you guys know better what its worth. My buddy who feels bad (can't help it if he's blind)...says he will tinker with it as time allows in the mean time to diagnose and get it running right....but as of right now it is as it sits.
If there is no interest here then I'll give craigslist a try...and if she doesn't go after ...it will sit in the back of my garage if I ever get it home.
The car is currently located in Stoneville ,NC ....not to be confused with Stoned Ville...although you might want to be when you look at it...lol
Feel free to ask any questions....sorry I did not get photos of the trunk...I was frazzled at the moment...but I may be able to get them to you.
