I talked to the guy.
This '70 300 was originally an FT6 Bronze-Tan Metallic with a white top and white Vinyl Stripe. Looking for 23K to sell.

Even if the car was re-painted in the original color, or if it was still the origianal color and had not been re-painted, it would not be worth anywhere near $23K. I guess he just doesn't really want to sell it. . .

I can understand a guy wanting to make a buck--who wouldn't, but where/how do all these people come up with these very unrealistic asking prices. I cannot see the rationality in $23k. it is just gonna make potentials walk right by "he's outta his mind, or crazy...I'll keep looking".

I think I mighta figured it out. This is what the NADA classic value guide sez about a '70 300 with the options shown:

Looks like the seller thinks that car should go for "High Retail."

I was looking at other car values the other day at NADA, KBB, etc., and they are ALL too high. Whats going on ? I know the market is not supporting those levels.

.

Those are used car guides..... Not accurate for collector cars
This guide is a little closer to reality then NADA or other "used car" guides
