My spies there informed me; SOLD $50,000 + commissions.

It's nice to see good cars bringing solid money.

I just got home from there. I didn't see that one but I did see a Hurst with a black vinyl top. It drove by I assume on the way to the auction block. Not sure if it was a clone or a real one with a top addrd.

Makes you wonder what a correctly restored example would bring.

I don't know.
Out of my stomach feeling I would say the buyers of the two Hurst (Mecum&BJ) are not C-body people so there knowledge was probably limited.
A more detailed example in direction originality might have not brought much more IMHO

It would be a great car, if it had been available in other colors. The car reminds me of vomit, every time I see one. . .
Maybe because I didn't see them all over the place when I first saw one (pre internet) and knowing the Hurst Olds was originally a bad *** machine, I thought they were pretty cool. I figured out real quick they were just a dolled up barge with cool looking "go fast" bits added for styling. But I still like them, I haven't changed my mind. I'd take one, but it's not on my priority sheet.
