Cheers Aidan but let's not go to far brother

More stuff that sits on shelves and work benches ;)

I have lost count on the number of BB truck mounts I have thrown away.

Well that's an interesting response to me Stan. Why would you feel the need to say that to me?

I was just making that comment with the thought I have way to much junk that no one want's normally but of course I have those. Are you suggesting I just scrap it all?

That's probably what I should do and I have actually thrown away some stuff away last summer and let one of my buddies scrap some worthless B body items but I am not quite to the point of calling a scrapper in yet although in actuality that's exactly what I should do and I'd be much happier. Most of what i have is not worth much and it's really getting me down.

I'll get better eventually and clear everything out .. I'm taking it one day at a time though

I guess this is the treatment I need in your opinion ***** slap.gif

No, no, no!!!,
I am not questioning your collection of parts.
I am just saying I have tried to sell many things that just could not find buyers.
Lean Burn computers.
Bb trunk motor mounts.
BB flywheels.
452 heads fercrisakes....
And others.
I have to clear out **** for incoming **** all the time.
For me, I had to throw stuff into the trunk many times when Lance sends another stripped to the bone car to the crusher man.

Gents,

Have a query regarding the Fusie C-Body subframes (please pardon my ignorance here) - is there a separate version for /6, SB V8 and BB V8 engine applications? Or just 2 versions - the /6 and SB V8 units are the same, but the BB V8 is different?

And I take it that the "difference" is confined to just the brackets that accept the engine mounts? Or are there further differences, such as additional bracing (heavier duty) etc?

Just not sure of how many different ones there are...I do realise that there are differences due to the frame isolators brought in around 1970, and also a length difference between Plymouth and Dodge/Chrysler etc. (someone actually posted on the latter but for the life of me can't remember in which thread...).

Cheers, Aidan

There is no conversion kit from anyone to drop a BB into that C-body /6 stub frame.

I am going to start off with the stub frames are all the same regardless of engine.
The only differences I know of are:
1. the engine mounts.
2. Convertibles had reinforcements added
3. Manual shift cars had a bracket welded to the stub for the Z-bar.

Others will add to this.

On A, B, and E bodies there are 2 diff "K" frames - Slant Six and V8 ... 66 - 72 anyway

The SB and B/RB V8's are mounted with their specific motor mounts.

I suspect there may be some similar difference with the C's and their snubs due to the radically different shape and slant, of the slant six that may not be able to be made up from motor mounts alone

I have a '73 Fury Gran Sedan parts car. Could donate its 360, radiator, front disc brakes, torsion bars (actually maybe the whole bloody stub-frame assembly, slide it in under the '70....lol).

But seriously, Brewers actually have the clutch fork: http://www.brewersperformance.com/products.asp?cat=102
(I’m pretty sure actually means 1962-64 B-body and1965-71 C-body applications I take it)

Also, TTI have C-Body exhaust stuff (thanks for the info Ben), for big-blocks only it would appear:

Now were can I get the right “Z-Bar”/TorqueShaft, hmmm, DVAP, or will that cost my left....

I have found that this car is a poor choice to turn into a sleeper.

Following that, there is nothing in that hole left by the 3 speed that will help you with the 4 speed that you thought would drop right in. Nope.
All you get out of that car is a set of pedals. Everything else is fabbed.
Even the Accurate Exhaust spec's for that car comes 2" too long because the spec's are for the 2" longer Polara....
Plus the upgrading.
Radiator, brakes, t-bars.

You'll never find it.
Just buy a cheap B-body Z-bar, slice it, dice it, and you have your C-body Z-bar.

So I've been reading this because of all the manual trans conversion convo and I noticed that I may need a clutch fork for my 300 4 speed conversion. I have a C body set of pedals, z bar, crossmember, and z bar mount for the frame and the floor hump. I was planning on using a 66 to 70 fork. If I need a early b body fork for sure I can possibly pick one up at Indy this weekend. Is this what I need to do? Thanks in advance for any knowledge you guys can shed.

Hey mate,

Have you also read Mike's thread, about his sweet '69 Fury I 2-Door Sedan? 'Tis in the "Fuselage Years' section, some good reading there too:

Mike and his buddy Tony, and not forgetting Byran (Tallhair)!, are THE men when it comes to this stuff...

Have a gander there too my friend

I remembered seeing a photo of a junkyard late '60s Sport Fury Hardtop in an old Muscle Car Review magazine that I had. It was pretty banged up, but rust free. Car was a BB, 4-speed car, but drive-train was gone. Found the mag last night (from 2009), and sure enough it was a 1967 model, still had the pedals and hump in it (console was gone), but wonder what else it had. From the pix, looked pretty well stripped. I'd probably actually feel guilty about removing that stuff from a car if there was a possibility that it could be restored lol...

Anyway, if the Z-Bar wasn't taken when the drive-train was removed, I imagine a small part like that would simply get lost, chucked, etc.

You'll never find it.

Thanks for the link man, I have read through that before. I just don't wanna throw 90 bux at a new fork with Brewer if I can use a B body one that I have. The thread you referenced looks to have used the 66-70 B body fork and not the early B fork that Brewer shows to fit the C body. I will be set up at the all Mopar meet in Indy this weekend and Wayne Brewer and son will be there. I will ask him in person.

Thanks again for replying to my post!

Looks like you were right Stan. I bought the C body/Early B body fork and also requires a C body only fork pivot that he will need to mail to me. I also bought the new ball and stud z bar hardware set. The fork was 89 he let me have it for 80.00 and the hardware set was 60, he let me have it for 55. This makes my 69 B Body 383 bellhousing work on my C body.

Now I have everything but a clutch and throwout bearing to install my 4 speed.

Please report back on this.
